Amazing place - large spacious apartment with balcony and glorious sea views! Loes who manages the apartment is wonderful, friendly and very helpful. Apartment is a taxi ride away from centre of Yalikavak approx 15 lira. The taxi rank is 5 min walk all downhill. But it's worth it for the view! I would say it is the best view in Yalikavak.

This is our second time of staying here at these apartments and still find everything that a couple need . Yes there are a few hills to over come but as we are slightly over weight 40++ but young at heart couple we managed to walk in and back from town in 30 mins each way . You can catch at taxi for 13 lira or get the local dolmus for 5 lira for two !!! cheap and very easy to use service . Apartment has stunning views a very chilled relaxing and excellent holiday . thank you to owners Terry and Cath and Loes their manager see you again next year

Appartement câché dans les petits monts autour de Yalikavak, mais quelle vue!! surtout le matin! Superbe service, Loes est vraiment géniale et nous donne de très bons conseils. L'appartement est très très bien équipé et vraiment tout est parfait et on se sent vraiment chez soi. 2 chambres, une grande pièce de vie, une cuisine toute équipée, une très grande terrasse.Il faut par contre une voiture pour se déplacer car le centre est assez loin et pour se balader dans la péninsule, c'est une nécessité. La literie est acceptable et le linge n'est pas livré en grand nombre. Par contre, quel plaisir de s'y retrouver pour des vacances. Nous y retournerons avec plaisir.

We stayed at Windmill Gate apartments for a week in August (we have been to Yalikavak before but not stayed here)
The apartment was well equipped, clean and there was more than enough room for two of us. The apartment manager was lovely- really helpful and welcoming.The balcony is great with amazing views and the pool was almost deserted all week - so we had it to ourselves!
Unfortunately there are building works nearby that do spoil part of the scenery but this should be finished soon and they are not the owners' fault.
Although we had read that there was a steep hill, as a young, fit couple we thought we could handle it. However in the afternoon extreme heat, it is a bit too far (25min walk) and too hilly for the walk into Yalikavak. In the evening with the breeze, the walk is much more enjoyable.
If you want to be a bit out of the way or don't mind hiring a car then this apartment is ideal. Although we had a fabulous holiday, we would prefer to be closer to the centre next time.

Holiday 8-22 Sept 2008. Booked a self catering apartment with good views with short walk to beach and restaurants. We were slightly misled by online advertising. Apt 3, top floor (as requested-good). Yes the apartment was very clean and spacious with welcome food pack and superb 180degree views. We had a hirecar from airport and for sightseeing but a taxi or a good half hour walk (each way) was necessary to enjoy a choice of restaurants in Yalikivak or car if you don't drink. There were a couple of basic, local bar/cafes/shops within walking distance but only for the bare necessities. Four good supermarkets within a mile or two. The only public areas of beach (not very inviting - no facilities, sunbeds etc) were squeezed in between a number of hotel all with their opposing nightime entertainment sound systems - particulalrly the French hotel (the loudest) with a very repetitive schedule, with continuous compere (in French) most of the night! The apartment was spacious, clean, modern but the bedlinen was typically Turkish, sheets which did not tuck in, with empty duvet, hence all night laid on rolled up sheets on bare mattresses! The last three nights of holiday, the weather changed so no need for aircon and no spare bedding for cooler weather. Good bedroom storage, good lounge seating. Good kitchen, though only gas hob and small microwave, good crockery and utensils and fridge/freezer. We ate in most nights had not planned to take taxis. Constant hot water (except for powercut after thunderstorm Sat night til 10.00am also no water because electrically pumped). Very large, private balcony with patio table and chairs, four loungers and table other bench/chairs. Advertised with TV with dvd but tv not connected hence no tv, we took no dvds, no radio, so silence (except for French dj at night!) Good pool and garden. Next to defunct building site next door (slight eyesore with local builders squatting but quiet and no problem). Stay here for superb views (three bays) and sunsets, good rear inland views too. Peaceful except for 9-12pm, three original windmills on hill behind apartments but expect to eat-in, walk (strenuous uphill back) or pay for taxi (bottom hill), dolmus or hire car and take dvds (if you're fussy, your own fitted sheets too)
