A great little hotel. A little dated and in need of renovation but, a perfect location. Staff are friendly, but, the arrogance of the owners leaves a lot to be desired. A simple hello and good morning or recognition would be nice. We stayed B and B and to be frank the breakfast is awful. My wife is celiac and all there was, was, water melon and if you were lucky yogurt. Asked for eggs to be replenished and was told no. We complained and it was taken personally to the point were we were called names in Turkish. However, it did improve but I do expect the basics to be done well. I think the prices of the bar and restaurant are way too high and doesn't compete with other places within walking distance, also with the state of the breakfast the desire to eat there isn't great. Complaining when you have your own drinks around the pool is outdated your self catering so people will bring there own drinks!!!
Despite the niggles the views and hotel are ok and I will visit again. Just won't expect too much. Tony is the star a great person whom the owners should feel lucky to have.

Visited September 2024. Gumbet Cove in great location next to beach. Let down by general run-down appearance. Apartment I stayed in - number 4 - was very shabby and urgently needs redecorating and refurbishing. Chipped furniture. Stains on walls etc. Electrical appliances provided - kettle, microwave and two-ring electric hob - all had very short leads on them so had to put them on the floor in order to use. Dangerous! Late arrival - not so much as a bottle of water provided. Not enough electric sockets in apartment. Good mosquito mesh at every window and balcony door. As solo female traveller had to ask for assistance with luggage as lots of stairs. Beach area small - but this meant only single row of sunbeds so no-one in front of you and direct access to sea - which was great. No problem getting sunbed every day either by pool or on beach. Shame no-one picked up cigarette butts and cleaned tables every day on small hotel beach. Took to taking wet wipes with me to do it myself. Cleaners do great job and seem to work all hours of the day. However, it’s difficult when accommodation so rundown and shabby. Peeling paint everywhere in outside area. All adds to general feeling of neglect. Owner shouted at people for taking their own snacks/drinks to beach, which I guess is fair enough as sunbeds are free. Labrador seemed to belong to hotel - ok if you like a smelly, wet dog flopping down next to you - which also “cocked its leg” against sunbeds - once just missing my towel! All in all, Gumbet Cove could be absolutely wonderful. It’s in a great location right on the beach in quiet corner of Gumbet. Easy to get transport nearby into Bodrum. Just needs money spent on updating and decorating apartments and outside area. Word of warning - Turkey is no longer a cheap holiday destination. Very ordinary meal cost £25.00 for one main course and small beer. Gumbet restaurants largely empty. Don’t get me started on extortionate prices at Bodrum airport. All in Euros and real rip-off.

Just home after a 2 week stay at this hotel. Lovely quiet location but still within walking distance to all bars and restaurants, taxi rank is a 2 minute walk away. Due to having walking difficulties I did find the hill down towards the hotel a bit daunting but I managed with the help of the hubby. The rooms are basic but very clean indeed, the maids were in every other day changing sheets, towels and cleaning the room. I had a hotel room so no cooking facilities but there is a fridge in the room which was a god send. My only negative about the room is the mattress was rock solid, felt like I was sleeping on the floor so I think they need to look at all new ones. Food and drinks in the hotel were quite pricey so we didn’t really use these facilities on an evening although we did have soft drinks and snacks at lunchtime most days. The pool area was clean and there was always sunbeds available but they also have a private part of the beach with quite a few sunbeds so either can be used. One downside of the pool is the only way in/out is via 2 sets of metal steps which for anyone with mobility issues it would be difficult to use, I found it easier to get than get out but again with the help of my hubby I managed. The staff were very pleasant, the young ones didn’t speak much English but they would always say hello, I just need to say tho that one member of staff (TONY) was an absolute star, he went above and beyond to make sure everyone there was well looked after and made to feel welcome. Due to his very good English he was left to sort out any problems but it was no effort at all to him. This hotel wouldn’t be the same if he left that’s for sure. If you are looking for a clean, tidy basic hotel in a quieter area of Gumbet then I would definitely recommend.

Just returned from a 10 day trip. We arrived late and had a problem with the air con. We were moved the following day without fuss. The staff could not do enough for you and work so hard. I have to say that Tony was exceptional every day he went over and above . Tony really did make gumbet cove an absolute pleasure to stay at and because of him we certainly would return to this hotel. It’s perfectly situated away from the noise of bar street which at first can be a little intimidating but once you get to know them the Turkish people genuinely cannot do enough for you. Tony explained the pressure they are under due to the 50% hike in inflation. We were welcomed everywhere we went and most of the restaurants came to wish us a safe journey home as we passed on the last night. The hospitality is amazing and we were all touched by it. Thank you gumbet cove for our first experience of turkey particularly Tony because of you it won’t be our last!

Arrived on the 9th sept ‘23, A quiet English speaking hotel, Close to all amenities. Pay extra for A/C , kettle and safe, hotel was clean yet basic, perfect to use as a hub. Taxi rank is 2 minutes away. Stayed in 203, overlooking the pool on the ground floor. Already booked for the same time next year.
Downside was a woman that was a tourist who thought she owned the hotel, falling out with everyone that was there.
Besides that, I totally recommend
