We had not long moved from the UK to Greek Cyprus and our lovely little house near the beach at Serena Bay. It was Easter in Cyprus but not in the North so we took our little dog and went for a weeks break as for the Cypriots, Easter is more important than Easter. There were few hotels that would accept dogs and when the Sat Nav couldn't find the place, it wasn't a good start. Eventually the owner a friendly Turkish guy came and met us and we followed him up the steep hill to the "hotel". It wasn't a hotel but a guest house with our own bungalow, self made by the owner and falling apart with electric wires hanging everywhere and a right mess. We were the only people staying there and after 2 days, we weren't surprised. I got severe food poisoning from the poor quality breakfast his Russian wife served up which even the dog wouldn't eat. We were by the pool but like our bathroom and kitchenette, the pool was never cleaned. We left after 2 days as this was the worst place we had ever been to in fifty years of travelling to lots of wonderful hotels across the world. My wife wrote a poor review and the owner kept phoning us to argue over the phone. He was advertising massage from his wife and even managed a good review from a friend but the massage area wasn't even built then, so what a farce. It should never have been listed as a hotel as it was nothing more than a 2nd rate guest house. Very poor.…
