We stayed at Thansur Tatai for one night between more luxurious hotels, and generally had a great time, however I would not have stayed longer than one more additional night.
I think the resort is enjoyable so long as you manage your expectations -- it is very secluded with very little to do and very basic amenities. The rooms (and shower) is quite rustic, the villas are charming but as they are made of bamboo, you can expect bugs and flies to get inside even with the doors shut. The mosquito net and bedside lamp were covered in (live and dead) flies. There is a ceiling fan and a floor fan, which we had to move right in front of the bed as we were still quite hot. The walkway had loose planks and nails poking out. Furthermore the staff seemed to be enjoying the peace a bit too much as our transfer too the hotel was quite stressful to organise, and upon check-out they didn't know we had booked a taxi with them.
That said, the resort is very peaceful and the location is idyllic. The floating villas are so special and we felt so relaxed hanging out in the room and on the deck just doing nothing for once. The food was amazing, although the smoothie I ordered was not, and we had no issues with the wifi.

Bloß nicht hinfahren. Absolut verdreckt, Toiletten seit Jahren nicht geputzt und schwarz vor Dreck, rostige Nägel im Duschbottich, total fleckige Bettwäsche, Fön funktioniert nicht, trotz mehrfacher Nachfrage kein Toilettenpapier,riesengroße Spinnweben, Abfall vom Vormieter unter dem Bett, die Kaffeemaschine im Restaurant hat zentimeterhohen Dreck oben, Unmengen von ungespültem Geschirr steht herum, Getränke nicht eingekühlt, mussten wir selber machen, ein Außendeck war gebrochen.. Kein Kühlschrank im Zimmer. Wenn man aus dem Wasser will, keine Treppe, unmöglich ohne Verletzungen auf den Steg zu kommen. Wir hatten 2 Nächte gebucht, sind aber nach einer Nacht fluchtartig abgereist. Aber am schlimmsten ist der unverschämte Hotelmanager, der auf Hinweis der Mängel ausfallend wird. Die Liste der Mängel ist noch viel länger

My wife got pneumonia before we travelled and we couldn’t go to the hotel as planned. Despite giving lots of notice, and repeated requests from Expedia, the hotel refused to let us cancel. They were within their legal rights, but this was mean-hearted.

Totally overrated resort. Not maintained at all, with pontoons and paths having rotting boards, dangerous! Nothing to do, staff barely speaks English, not even cool drinks, if they have any. Very uncomfortable furniture, very little to eat. Dinner was still tasty, very simple but tasty. Breakfast was terrible. We booked for 2 nights but left immediately after breakfast after just 1 night.

This was the one resort we were looking forward to as it was different. When we arrived by boat the wood looked like it hadn't been varnished for years. Wood was rotting with holes in tables . The wooden walkway was rotten l, had nails sticking out and rocked when you walked on it with only broken pillars and thin rope to use if you needed to steady yourself. We were put in the furthest room about 150 metres along the walkway.
The room could only be described as filthy, the bedside lamps were full of spider webs, the mosquito net was ripped and had numerous holes in it. We had no toilet paper or clothes hangers in the room so had to walk back to request them. The hot water flask still had water in it from previous guests. Do not swim in the river from your terrace as there are no ladders to get back up. The water level is too low to haul yourself up out of the water onto your terrace (this is a major health and safety issue)
Breakfast was sparse without much choice and you had to pay for a juice if you wanted one. The evening meal had to be ordered 30-45 mins in advance. The one plus was the best was extremely comfortable.
We were so disappointed that after two nights we requested our tour operator to move us further up the river to the Canvas and Orchids resort which was luxurious and well worth the extra money.
