Everything in the world is improving but the ferries are slower than ever.kavala - thassos 1h,45 minutes instead of 1h,15 minutes and from ketamoti 45 minutes instead of 30 minutes. Its really a disaster.

To get to the island of Thassos, it is best to take the ferry to Keramoti (shorter crossing than Check-out from Kavala: 35 mn). No Reservation is possible, we buy our ticket just before boarding at a gate on the port. 5 € / person and 20 € / car type Opel Corsa. Check-out from Thassos: same but 25 € / car. Bar and toilet on board.

Great experience getting to/from Thassos. Always on time and only a 45 minute trip. Bar on board with snacks and plenty of seating inside and out. You can feed the seagulls in the air as they fly alongside. Plenty of bars and restaurants quayside both ends and it's only about 15 minutes from Kavala airport on the mainland.

Sunday 25th June we were travelling on board the Anassa Ferry from Thassos Town (Limenas) to Keramoti, Kavaka.
Although the ferry was called Anassa it was operated by Thassos Ferries.
We commenced boarding, as foot passengers alongside cars and vehicles, at about 09.10.
There was seating available on the upper deck or indoors in the lounge. We chose to sit indoors, so we found place to sit, with a table and made ourselves comfortable for the journey.
We were scheduled to depart at 09.30 which we did, the boat was moving spot on time and we arrived in Keramoti at 10.10. It was a smooth and comfortable crossing on board a clean and well maintained boat. Our tickets were included in the price of our holiday.
In the lounge there was a bar, Anassa Bar, were drinks snd snacks were available.
On arrival in Keramoti it was a bit of a nightmare, not the Ferry Lines fault, there were people milling around mixed in with traffic. Holiday Company Reps were trying to gather their guests to get them on board their coaches. It was a bit confused and dangerous, basically the Port area could not cope with the volume of passengers, ferries and traffic.
