Inside the library up 3 flights of stairs. Lift not working so it was really hard to reach.
Went in and it was one small room. They had an old fashioned police box and various stories about crimes committed in the area in years gone by. Including dick Turpin and Sophia Lorraine jewels being stolen. The lady behind the counter was amazing, full of knowledge and very welcoming.

Small, one room local history museum but full of interest. I went specifically to see the display about the unbuilt "northern heights" tube line which was highly engaging. The volunteer staff are very friendly and helpful. Well worth a look but if coming a distance might be better to check the current display to make sure it is something that suits your interests.

I have visited the Elstree & Borehamwood Museum a couple of times when they have had exhibits that interested me. The most recent was an exhibition on the Northern Heights Extension which never actually happened but was planned.
The museum is located in 96 Shenley Road which is the main road through the town centre and close to Elstree Studios. it is on the top floor but there is a lift if you struggle with stairs.
It is not a very big museum but worth checking out for an insight into the local area and the varied history of the area. Make sure you check the opening times for your visit.

Great one for history Off the rails The line that never was is a good exhibition do try it only there till September so do check out its still there as of now

This was our first visit and we came to see the exhibition "The Tube Line That Never Was". The museum is very small but one can easily spend an hour or so here. The exhibition was very well presented and informative. We really enjoyed it and look forward to the next exhibition about buses! The member of staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable.

This is a small local museum located somewhat obscurely at the top of a building, accessible through a local library. It is staffed by excellent helpful volunteers. It needs better on site publicity, and some sort of signage at street level. Such a sign would enhance the café and activities that take place on the ground floor by enticing more potential customers for them as well.
It is rare that a town hides its museum away like this, almost as if it is embarrassed to have one. So it is to be hoped that the leaders of the local community can boost the status of this lovely museum and promote it as a valuable asset with its location readily visible to visitors from outside.

Nice ocal museum run by volunteers.
Great local museum in cetre of Borehamwwod. They have regular themes and exhibitions. Free entry.

Travelled across from Bristol especially to see the exhibition, myself and my daughter love Holby an we were not disappointed the displays were fabulous, the inside information on the show was lovely to read about, my daughter and her boyfriend even got to dress up in scrubs an do a mock operation on the maniquin that was there. Staff were also very helpful an informative they told us where the outside scenes for Holby were filmed so we could have a little look.

Visited the Holby City exhibition. It was small but had a huge amount of information in. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and obliging when it came to photographs!
