A serene view on the way to Nathula Pass, one can't ignore this. A lake in the midst of hills. One can climb up the hill by sitting on Yak or take photos with Yak

We had an amazing time. We were residing in a suite at Summit Ttakshang hotel at Kazi road. It was a really nice place safe, view from balcony was excellent and food was good hotel staff were polite and happy people.

Beautiful lake. The view is worth going to. It comes in the way while going to nathula pass. Yak riding is also available there.

This is a must visit place and falls on the route to Nathu La. We visited during April and the lake had crystal clear water with snow on the sides. The lake itself is very picturesque and will leave you mesmerised. There are several yaks there for photo ops or a ride at some cost and a shiv temple in the area. There is also a doorway there but we did not go in it.

Travelled to Sikkim in March 2023 with family. Visiting tsomgo lake was an out of the world experience. I have to admit I haven't seen such a beautiful place on the top of a mountain in my life. The lake was surrounded by snow capped mountains which added to its scenic beauty. There was a ropeway which we did not ride as we were enjoying the beauty of this amazing place, although we did ride the Yak and Horse. The temperature was well below sub zero. We had to rent boots and other jackets as we did not expect such low temperature. We did travel higher up to visit Nathula pass, but just to mention even if you could not visit Nathula, being in tsomgo was an awesome experience by itself. Anyone who visits Sikkim the 1st stop should be this Paradise.

Tsogmo lake is also known as Chhanggu lake. A one day itenary from gangtok covers Nathu La pass, Tsogmo lake and baba harbhajan singh temple. This lake is the mid point in the journey. It ia beautiful lake and is covered with ice during winters. We visited in the month of March, so the lake was not covered with ice, however all the surrounding mountains were coevered with snow. There is also a ropeway from the lake which will take you to the peak of the mountain. It is a beautiful site. Budget atleast couple of hours for the lake and the ropeway. It is the most beautiful place in the entire day itenary.

Stunning views of the mountain range on the top. And frozen lake looked beautiful. Yak rides were cool too. Abt 2k inr for a short return trip. There was a lovely cafe at the area with decently priced food.

Loved the place, visited the place on way to Nathula pass, loved the place, very beautiful when it snows. can take Yak rides. one of the most beautiful places i ever visited. Locals are friendly too

Lake is one of the tourist spots on the way to Nathu La pass, and just like everything around it, is popular because of the breathtaking location it is situated in. Lake per se, is large but nothing to talk about. The water is clean but not clear. Boating isn't permitted.
Cable Car at lake (360/- charge, 3yr older) is worth its price in beauty and experience. The ride is about 5 min each way, and you can spend half an hour at the top taking pictures and soaking natural beauty. You can have tea/snacks at top (40/- tea, on the expensive side). The cafe at the bottom has a limited vegetarian menu with not so exorbitant prices.
Pictures with the backdrop of the lake give you the most poster worthy pictures in our whole East Sikkim trip.
There is an option for Yak rides around the lake but we found prices exorbitant. About 1200/- for a 10min trip seems expensive even from tourist place standards.

It is safe to travel to the lake, but make sure you dress the infant appropriately for the cold temprature.

It is safe, just make sure that the kid is appropriately dressed for the cold temprature.

I want to visit Tsomgo lake with my two year old son. Will he be officially permitted to visit the lake? Along with your opinion, please provide a government source (if any) in this regard.

Your ID is needed to take official permission to visit the place. It's easily arranged by the transport driver you take.

When was the bypass done and what is the LVEF(pumping capacity). If the surgery was not done recently and heart pumping is fine, you can definitely go.
