The Bay of Somme is superb view of Saint Valéry sur Somme or the Crotoy, but it is really seen from the inside that it takes all its dimension, it is really seen from the inside that we take the full measure, living there the falling tide and the rising tide. You feel small in front of it, facing this relentless nature that constantly reshapes the physiognomy of its landscapes.
Maui knows the bay perfectly. He knows how to read the currents in these channels that change almost every tide. He shares with us all his knowledge of this nature, of these birds, of seals, of this environment that he practices daily and that we feel is part of him.
Added to this rare weather conditions on September 17, sunrise on a foggy horizon, smooth bay as a lake on the way, hot drink/cake break beaten watching seals, surfing the mascaret on the return with the tide (impressive, the crackling of water running on the sand), all in a three-way kayak trip, and this makes an exceptional moment that will forever be etched in our memory.
Thanks for all that, Maui.

Moment that imprints itself in the memory, and that will be a resource for a long time.
I did the same 2x outing in a week. What's wrong?
Because once on a high tide morning. And the second time at sunset ☀️ in small tides.
2 memorable and different outings. And animated with the same passion.
Made memorable first thanks to Maui's communicative human warmth. A lover of its bay, his childhood, his Life.
Even his canoe talks about him.
Then there's the light, the spatulas, the lapping of the water, the twinkling of the sun on the water... and the highlight of the show, the seals. So curious that some approach us. Maui lets us enjoy it all the time, and even bathe watching the seals go by in the current .. and icing on the cake (as if that was not enough), it decorates everything with a drink and the famous battered cake of the Bay of Somme.
Here.
It's all said.

Breathe in.
Take everything to full lung.
Activate all your senses.
And above all, be in the moment.

July 20, 7 am, Check-out for a magnificent 4-hour canoe trip with Mauï to discover the Bay of Somme and its landscapes and wildlife. We were able to admire hundreds of sea calves and grey seals on land and in the water. A paddle stroke that made us very happy. To live absolutely!

We came as a family with our 3 teenagers, we had a wonderful time, at sunset, aboard this canoe
We were able to approach the seals and their pups

What about this outing by canoe on Friday 19 July? A magical moment, unforgettable and out of time. Absolute fullness!
An evening where all the conditions were met: mild weather, friendly participants, seals in incredible quantity who offered us a ballet both visual and sonorous, a fabulous sunset, a stop on a sandbank where you feel alone in the world with a small drink very nice offered and prepared by our Guide top of the top: Maui!
To do at least once in your life, and if you hesitate between several providers, call on Maui! Everything is super well thought out and organized: ready beach shoes, jacket, waterproof bag, glass of water and sunscreen mandatory before leaving, explanations and anecdotes throughout the ride, all with simplicity and hints of humor. Maui is super friendly and unifying, passionate about his job. He takes you with him for three hours of pure happiness and the only regret you have is seeing the end of this adventure.
Make this outing with Maui with your eyes closed...but above all open the big ones!!

We had a great time , breathtaking views, we could see many seals , including babies with their mothers. We also saw many birds that live on the bay.... Total disconnection and super change of scenery! We really feel close to nature. And the atmosphere was super nice

Super resourceful ride, which thanks to the canoe allowed us to observe, colonies of grey seals and sea calves, without disturbing them. Mauis and Louise, shared their passion for the Bay of Somme, taking us to the best spots. A superb experience, with a drift at the rising tide amidst the unforgettable seals. As a nature lover, I would like to do this every day. Don't hesitate. THANK YOU Maui and Louise.Māuruuru roa.
