Visited this venue on a Saturday. 4 adults, 3 kids aging from 3-10.
We were lucky in that the weather was gorgeous. The wooded area around the tower offered great shade from the sun and heat.
We spent a good couple of hours hunting the wooden animals named on the toadstools - some are hard to find which just made us more determined. The kids had a smashing time searching! Also spent ages finding all the black birds.
The piano is a great addition and a wonderful surprise! Luckily the oldest child is musically gifted and can play so spent some time entertaining us all, along with others.
Views are gorgeous.
We didn’t go up the tower but it’s still rather spectacular looking at it.
Parking easy as there is a long side road with no yellow lines at all. Despite us visiting on a weekend, it was fairly devoid of visitors, I think I only saw 2 other small family groups.
All in all it’s a novel and beautiful location offering lots of fun for kids and to be honest, adults! We ended up more determined than the kids, to find all the statues!
Worth a visit. Take a picnic, chill out and enjoy passing the time.

We had such a wonderful time visiting the folly. The views are fabulous & it is an easy walk up from the free two hour on road parking spots at the bottom of the hill. We enjoyed spotting the sculptures & reading the history boards. The tower is open a couple of times a month so worth checking this out. Plus there are two free woodland story-time events a month so that is perfect if you have little ones. The site is dog friendly & there are plenty of benches to soak up the view. We enjoyed it coupled with a visit to Uffington White Horse which is around 20mins away. Highly recommend for a free outing on a sunny day.

Unexpected little gem!
Great views after a fair climb but well worth it. There are a couple of levels to stop for a breather before you get right to the top.
You can see 5 counties from the top on a clear day.
Gentleman at the top was super helpful and lent us binoculars too.
The surrounding woodland is also good to see all the quirky little sculptures.
Great value for only £3 and I think kids price was £1 over 5 years.

Truely enchanting! The views are amazing; and not just from the Tower. Wow! And everywhere you look there's something else quirky or interesting that catches your eye. The woodland is completely free to enjoy - and open all year.

Went recently with a friend and later this week took my partner.
Lovely views of the White Horse and could see Brize Norton clearly from the hill. Parked in the Town had light lunch in the excellent Market Cafe at took a leisurely stroll to the Folly.

One has to visit, there eis so much istory there from neolithic times, King Alfred, Cromwell and the modern folly. Now with a large Ukranian flag on top.

Stunning scenery and a really interesting wooded area to explore! Highly recommend for a dog walk! Easy parking in the area.

A brick-built tower on top of an ancient, wooded hill. Not your usual folly. It’s opened by volunteers every other Sunday and rewards the climb to the top with panoramic views over the countryside. Interesting interpretation panels on the hill and inside tower give a brief history of the tower and it’s flamboyant creator. Well worth a visit.

The Folly is a unique stop with great views of the surrounding areas. While you can’t go up in the tower without scheduling an event, there’s plenty to be entertained by just wandering around. It’s a short walk to the main attraction though parking close can be difficult and it is a climb…but remember the views are worth it. There are benches along the way and at the top to rest or have a picnic.
Once at the top you can walk laps, play fetch with the pooch, or wander to find the “hidden woodland creatures.” Kids enjoy traipsing through the spread out trees and balancing on the fallen branches and logs. It’s a nice place to let them roam and explore.

Please park on Stanford Road and walk up to the FollyTower which is in the centre of our fabulous 4-acre woodland4-acre woodland.
