Fairly flat but great trails to walk rhe dogs. Bring water and stay on the trails. If you are an avid mtn biker wouldnt be technical enough but if you want a nice ride in the woods would be fun.

Great grounds for hiking. Up highs, downhills, very peaceful and great anytime of the year. Trails are good for walking your dogs on a leash. Great for family strolls. Blue jays chipmunk, squirrels, butterflies would be fascinating for children.
Make sure to have comfortable foot wear, its a big walk.

Love Hiking here. Even on a busy day you don't see many people. There are multiple trails that connect to other trails, you never have to do the same hike twice.

We went hiking here recently. Thought we would try somewhere new and this wasn't too far. Upon arrival there is a pay yourself machine. It only takes coins, No bills and no credit card or debit options. Thankfully I had a few coins in my car for coffee.
We went on a Saturday, and there were no trail maps in the display. Usually weekends are the busiest time, this should have been topped up before the weekend.
We set out on the Cottontail Rabbit trail and the it was well marked early on and was easy to follow we then crossed over to the White-Tailed Deer Trail. The trail is fairly easy and is good for beginners. While on the WTDT all off the sudden we were in an open field... and electrical towers all over the place. Here is where the path became less clear. It almost looked like no one ever comes thru here. We eventually made it back to the hiking trail and the only exciting part was when we were nearly back to our parking area we saw a bunch of wild turkeys and man were they fast, I couldn't get my phone out fast enough to get a photo. It's almost like they have never seen people before ..lol
If your are looking for an easy/average hike then this is a good place to start, just make sure you bring change for the pay machine.

Beautiful spot to hike in bowmanville that is not too far away and a stones throw from the highway. If you are looking for a quiet spot for a hike with multiple trails and multi use, this is definitely the spot for you!

I can't add much to what has already been said: approximately 6 trails, 2 parking lots [pay now], dry toilets at main lot, excellent trails with good variety of elevation. [1 early reviewer mentioned camp sites. There are none. That review must have been posted under the wrong location. Camping is not permitted.] On summer weekends you can often hear the noise of the cars at Mosport but it is a very gentle background noise. You are hiking through the Ridges so there is a lot of climbing up and down through the ravines, through a variety of forests, grasslands, etc. One flat trail. So peaceful. We've hiked the trails & not run into anyone only to find the parking lot full when we got back. There is that much room for everyone. The people you do run into are usually all of the same mindset: they value conservation. It's a great place to spot migrating songbirds and we've seen a goshawk. We spotted a black bear there over 10 years ago & a number of our friends have seen it too - very briefly - be aware & practice good sense so that we can all continue to co-exist peacefully.

You can't go wrong when you choose Long Sault as a place to hike, mountain bike, take nature photos, or just simply to spend a day in the beautiful outdoors.
Long Sault is one of my favorite hiking places in the east. It is around an hour's drive from Toronto's York Mills station. With over 15 kms. of trails and wooded areas, meadows, etc., it offers a good workout, anytime of the year. There are about 5 loop trails, the longest being just under 4 kms. The trail itself is wide but watch where you walk since some portions have big exposed roots.
There are 2 parking areas, close to the trail head. Portalets and a few picnic benches are also available.
After your outdoor enjoyment, why not head up to Tyrone Mills for some of the best apple cider donuts. It is only 7 kms. away. Enjoy!

Doesn't matter the season, this conservation area is beautiful! At the main entrance it is paid parking $2 for 2 hours, $4 for the day (I think). There are 4 outhouses at this entrance. At the west end of the park is additional parking for a few cars and no fee. There are about 18k of trails, most of which can be combined to go longer or shorter. Fairly easy hiking on mostly double wide trails. In the spring wildflowers seduce you. In the summer and fall a canopy of trees soothes you and in the winter it is peaceful and serene. As a trail runner I love the diversity of trails and that it isn't overly technical but has a nice balance of elevations.
