We went to this place for dinner one day, it was very quiet. The restaurant was not really open when we arrived and we had to wait a while for the cook to show up to work.
There are two blocks of small shops and restaurants in the old gray brick style, and some not very impressive water features. It did have the only skateboard shop I have seen in china.
I don't recall the name of the particular place we ate at. The food was OK but unremarkable.
Maybe the whole place would be better with more people around, earlier in the day, or maybe later in the evening than when I visited.
The whole target market of the concept was a bit of a puzzle, as Nanning is not much of a location for international tourism, and even for chinese tourists and visitors it is a bit out of the way. Other places along Wuyi Lu seem to be busier and more popular with the locals.

Not much going on in the Water Street per se, mostly just for tea shopping and traditional type souvenirs. It's about 50m up the street from the Dancun market, which is the largest market in Nanning.For the adult travel it's one of the more interesting places in Nanning. The area is huge and there are al kinds of fruits and vegetables you've probably never seen before. There are some truly colossal squash and melons available. The meat section also has all those things you've been told people eat, snakes, scorpions, dogs, and more. It's a truly eye opening experience.

其实local会去水街 有最好的粉虫和粉饺 现在升级以后有位置坐又干净 价格合理好停车 真的很赞哒 甜品什么的很好吃 值得去

Jiangnan water street is a featured Guangxi folk culture district which combined architectural style of Chinese classical gardens with unique Guangxi minorities buildings.
There are small bridges over the flowing water, down to the slowly rotating waterwheel. Pretty willows stand by each sides of diversified pavilions and towers. Minorities dress with their beautiful folk costumes. All the scenery is poetic and picturesque in Jiangnan water street.
