Great tour of local geology. John told us about the local rocks collected from Iceland. He is a very welcoming host and enjoys learning new languages. A real character that is worth the time spent at his home and shop.

Jón Friðrik is the owner and story teller of the life time coolection of stones.
He does not only collect the he also clean them and shiw us his instruments he uses to do it.
He designes souvouneers also and sell made fron reindeer horns.
I encorage to go there and listen to what he says and you can ask him also if you want to know more or details.
Buy his craft support him he deserve it

A lifetime's collection of wonderful stones from around Iceland and beyond. The owner is more than happy to share his extensive collection with visitors. He is passionate about Iceland and very welcoming. Now wishing I had purchased from his little shop.

Fantastic handcraft shop not too far outside of Akureyri on ring road. We had been having a hard time finding the Icelandic sweaters in patterns we liked and in our size everywhere we looked as it was the end of the season, but JFS had a fantastic selection with plenty of sizes! Bonus, they had some more creative designs/patterns that we hadn't seen anywhere else

Me and my friend just visited Jon's museum/shop and it was an amazing experience! He is very welcoming and passionate of his rocks, that he collected for 45 years!!! He has brilliant samples of rocks of every type and he explains to you where he found them, which type of rocks they are and everything! Go to visit the Silver Fox of Iceland this is a must stop to do in your trip!

JFS was very polite, willing to explain things, let you know of his story and show you around the shop and his collection, without actually trying to sell you staff.

This place was absolutely amazing, we came in just after a large group although he was busy saying his goodbyes to them he immediately came out to share his knowledge with us. As a couple who have partaken in geology classes his information was spot on and we were amazed with the beautiful minerals and stones as-well as Jóns passion. I would highly recommend this place!

A welcoming retired fisherman who loves the rocks and gems in his countryside, Jon was so excited to show us his collection and his shop, share stories, and provide laughter and delightful memories of a special place tucked away uphill in a tiny and lovely town. Highly recommend the stop for a pause in your trip for good company and homemade crafts.

Jon is a retired fisherman who has been collecting rocks and gems. His collection is spread out in the backyard of his house and he offers free tours of his collection. Inside his garage is his workshop and the store where you can purchase merchandise made from the rocks.
Jon is very knowledgeable and personable. The rock collection is impressive, but you visit and stay for Jon's stories, passion, and enthusiasm.
A great place to bring kids and it's worth a stop!

This was an incredible shop full of all kinds of gems, stones, and interesting finds. You can tell the owner has such a passion for what he does and some great stories! We bought some rain deer horn necklaces and he threw in some gifts! What a gem of a man.
