The most beautiful lagoon in the world. Forget the Key's in Florida or Bali. These places has nothing on one foot island. True tropical island (a bounty island) Forget google and the pictures you see there. Go and experience it for yourselves. There are no words to describe the beauty of this little island. Blue sea, white beach. Palm-tree's sea-turtles. If there is one place to visit in your life its this little island.

We came to this island on a private tour with Kute Kute tours. We got to float down the channel with gin and tonics and had this stunning island all to ourselves for a picnic on the beach as the sun went down!

We took a private snorkle tour with Kutekute and they brought us to One Foot Island in time to get our passports stamped by the postmistress, and then brought us back after the larger tour boats left so we could float the channel. The island itself is lovely, some interesting history, and pristine sandy beaches to walk barefoot.

Beautiful island but the experience could have been better. We were unceremoniously dropped off by a boat on an excursion arranged by Paul Gauguin cruise. The captain instructed us to take the plastic chairs from the boat with us. On shore there was a rather disorganized, crowded lunch of grilled fish, hot dogs, fruit and salad. Tables were reserved for Bishop excursions and we were left sitting on our plastic chairs for 3 hours. Lunch was rushed. On to the next group. Free water. One bathroom and you had to request the key. Workers seemed grumpy. Beautiful water for swimming and snorkeling. Three hours was a bit too long. Bring water shoes as the coral is sharp for walking.

Beautiful experience on this small island as the last stop of the Aitutaki boat tour. You can walk around it and also snorkel. The extra stamp in your passport is very nice.

My Uncle & I visited the Cook Islands for the first time, we took the Aitutaki Day Tour from Rarotonga, the day trip was organised by Air Rarotonga and the Vaka Cruise company. The entire day trip was very well executed, from the 7.15am pick-up from our resort in Rarotonga, to the checking-in for the 45-minute domestic flight to Aitutaki, to the Aitutaki Island tour and the Vaka cruise trip in the Aitutaki Lagoon. One Foot Island was the last stop of the day for our day trip and it was DEFINITELY the highlight of our day trip. The beach here is by far the most beautiful beach in the Cook Islands and in the South Pacific Ocean, on par with the beaches of Bora Bora in French Polynesia! The turquoise colour of the lagoon and the palm-fringed beach makes for postcard-perfect pictures for your Facebook and Instagram accounts! Please forgive me, but I have to admit that the beaches around Rarotonga are dreadful, compared to the beach of One Foot Island. Come here and see it for yourself.
INTERESTING TIP: There is a post office on One Foot Island that will stamp your passports with a very unique stamp for NZD2 each. However, if you are taking the Aitutaki Day Tour, the captain of the Vaka Cruise will stamp your passports with the same stamp for FREE! Therefore, please remember to bring your passports along if you are going for the day trip with the Vaka Cruise company.

A great day out in the beautiful lagoon, great trio of music singers, lovely fresh barbecued fish salad lunch, reef snorkeling with stingrays and big friendly fish, perfect !

I went to One Foot Island in Aitutaki twice when I went on the Vaka Cruise twice through the Aitutaki Day Tour package through Air Rarotonga on September 28, 2022 and October 1, 2022.
It’s so stunningly beautiful with the crystal clear turquoise ocean surrounding it.
I snorkelled right by One Foot Island with the other passengers from the Vaka Cruise and I put my cellphone in waterproof protective casing that would allow me to take photos and make videos underwater. The battery on my phone was dying but I was able to take a few photos of some huge black lipped clams.
Going to the Cook Islands has been the best vaycay of my life so far and the best birthday of my life so far!

I will be in Aitutaki for 2 1/2 days. One day I am doing the Teking Tours of the lagoon (including time on One Foot Island).. Is it worth it to take a boat (Bishops Cruises) for a day to spend on One Foot Island or should I just stay on Aitutaki and snorkel from there?

For the whole day you would need to pack lunch and take heaps to drink, personally I would just spend a few hours there unless all you want to do is lay on the beach, read and hop in the water, could be a very long day out there other wise. Doesn't take long to walk around the island. It is lovely out there, hope this helps.

Heya,
They have the day trip to Aitutaki which you can book through Air Raro, from memory it’s $500 which includes return flights, a tour around the island and then the day cruise to One foot island on the “vaka cruise” which is amazing and in my opinion the best cruise. The cruise includes a BBQ lunch and lively entertainment from the tour operators. Definitely a must do if you are visiting the Cook Islands.
Taa and Ali are amazing hosts on the cruise.

You will love Aitutaki, book a day boat tour with lunch and they will take you to all the cool spots including one foot island and including snorkelling don't forget to bring your passport and have it stamped at one foot island.
This is one of the most beautiful places you will ever go we were there last year ENJOY!!!!!!!
