Definitely a beautiful photo spot, however make sure you are respectful of the people who live in the area when you take photos, ask permission if people are in the background, it's not a spot intended for tourists so just take that into consideration when you're deciding if you want to go here

The Montane Mansion is one of five separate residential towers that form what is informally known as the Monster Building in Quarry Bay. These are tightly packed tenements that were built in the 1960s and one of the best examples of 'Old Hong Kong' from that period. As such, this location has become a popular location for blockbuster films including the likes of Ghost in the Shell and Transformers: Age of Extinction.
Because of recent fame from movies, many visitors want to make way to Montane Mansion to see the inner courtyard where you can experience how close the Monster Building towers are to each other. Just note that these are peoples homes and not a tourist attraction. So if you decide to visit, do act appropriately. There are signs asking tourists to not film or take pictures. If you snap a quick pic or two and be on your way, nobody will likely be bothered by your brief presence. Just minimise the impact and disturbance you may have and respect that these are their homes and lives.
The Montane Mansion is located along King's Road, around 3-4 minute walk from the Tai Koo MTR Station.

The building is amazing, but then you remember that people live in such cramped conditions. I'm certainly not one to judge but we personally felt a little uncomfortable with people posing for pictures. I wouldn't like it of people were showing up to take pictures in front of where I live. Still not real sure how I feel about it.

トランスフォーマーロストエイジの舞台にもなったらということと
フランス人写真家Romain Jacquet-Lagrèze氏の写真が超有名なことで知られる？海山楼
観光客の皆さんは時間と労力を使って行かれてるようですが
個人的にはUberでパッと行ってシャツと次の所に移動されるのが一番かと思います。
その位、トランスフォーマー好きの方の聖地やも知れませんが
其処に住まわれてる方々の生活の場を感じ得ずには入れない場所です。
住民の皆さんのご迷惑にならないように行動する為にも
Uberでの移動をオススメします。

へぇー此処かーってかんじがしました。
でも、なかなかの迫力がある場所でした。

The place is easy to reach but there will be many tourists there. But I still like this place because the view is different from others location. It’s a must go in Hong Kong.

少し迷う場所にありますが面白い写真が撮れます。行き方と注意点は下記ご参照下さい。
☆場所
太古駅と鰂魚涌駅から行けます。
今回は鰂魚涌駅を利用。迷わず行けば徒歩7-10分程。
☆ざっくりした行き方です。(最新の地図マップでご確認ください。)
鰂魚涌駅下車→A太古坊出口→右手にまっすぐ進む→古い歩道橋？を昇る→右の階段を降りる→スーパーや魚屋を通り過ぎて左に建物階段→昇ると到着。
(2019.5月現在。お店は変わる可能性があるので最新情報をご確認下さい。)
☆おススメ時間
朝早ければ人がいないので列も無くすぐに写真を撮る事が出来ます。土曜10時頃に到着した時は2組しかいませんでした。
その後から続々と人が来ました。
☆注意点
事前に確認したところどのサイトも写真NGになっていました。理由はマナーが悪いとの事。
ガイド曰く騒がしい事と、写真を撮る為に台の上にのる事が危険で住民からクレームがあったようです。
実際日本人家族が台の上に乗って飛び跳ねようとして同行のガイドが注意しましたが文句を言ってました。
素晴らしい場所で良い写真を今後も撮る為にはマナーを守らないと本当に今後撮れなくなるので、次の方の為にもマナーを宜しくお願い致します。
また沢山人が来られるのでいっぱい写真を撮りたいのはやまやまですが、出来るだけ次の方にお譲りすると、来た方皆さんが気持ち良く写真を撮る事が出来ると思います！

先程の古い歩道橋を反対側に降りるとすぐにもう一つのピンクっぽい住宅も見れます。
ローカルミニ市場みたいになっているのでわかりやすいかと思います。

2019年5月のGWに行きました。入場不可になったとの情報がありましたが大丈夫でした。写真を撮るために列ができていました。すごく時間をかけて写真を撮ってる人がいるのですが、それなりにポーズは考えておきましょう。面白い写真が撮れますね。コの字形の部分は二つあり、大して違いはありませんが微妙に色合いが違いますので両方行ってみてください。古く年代を感じるマンションですが、1Fにどう見ても新しいカフェが出来ており、写真を撮りに来た観光客目当てだと思います。

Our Uber dropped us right out the front. We arrived in the morning just before 9am before the shops were opening as to not bother store owners as I understood that photos are not particularly welcome and read about security and people being ‘kicked out’. There was a small queue to take a picture but we waited, took some quick shots and left to realise our photos were all blurry. We returned at about 5pm that afternoon and holy hell. The place was CRAWLING with tourists trying to get that ‘insta shot’. I’m not talking taking quick photos. I’m talking full on photo shoots! The queues to take a shot were ridiculous and I see the problem with photography here. Residents were out in the courtyard burning incense, playing cards in big groups, etc and seemed to ignore the tourists but I felt so guilty that this is their home and this is what they put up with everyday. We got some quick shots and left, no massive photo shoot for us! Definitely didn’t get kicked out or told off but I can see why people do!

Made famous by movies and instagram, this place is in danger of being overrun by tourists and insta-mad people climbing all over trying to shoot from unique angles. Security personnel are stationed at lift gates to ensure only locals enter residential areas, and banners are put around to discourage people from taking photos. Yet, we sneaked a few quick pictures, and quickly left.
