I thoroughly enjoyed the Talking Through Art walking tour. The tour allowed me to walk the roads where the people of Rwanda live and get a glimpse of the neighborhood and how the community works. My tour guide was a lovely young man who was knowledgeable of the area and curious about other cultures and communities.
The weaving that was done by the local women was outstanding. I only wish I had more room in my suitcase!

Peter is an AMAZING person who truly cares for the welfare of others. He employs many people, mostly ladies who work hard making beautiful baskets, placemats and mosquito netting among other things. Everyone at "Talking Through Art" were welcoming and even gave me a lesson in basket making. Their products are very high quality and unique to other things I've seen in the area. Peter and his organization are an inspiration for us all!

Beautiful gallery with shop in a nice and calm area of Kigali. If you are lucky, you can even meet the women while there are working on their baskets. It is a very cool experience. I would 100% recommend to visit TTA

An awesome place to meet local people. You can buy there nice products, have a tour of Kigali and learn something about life of people with disabilities in Rwanda. Sometimes people are busy in there, don't be afraid to ask anything, everybody Is very nice.

TTA is really nice organization which gave oppurtunnity to people with disability to be a part of the society.
Everyone is nice here. You can buy here many things as a baskets, vases or flowerpot. Totally recommending.

TTA offered me an unique experience of seeing Kigali from different perspective. I went on the tour which took me into the local neighborhoods, taught me about the local culture and history, and we also tasted the seasonal delicacies!!
I also took the basket weaving class which was very creative way to connect with the locals, and it also gave me a huge appreciation for the work spent on those baskets!
Highly recommended. The staff was very sweet, they made us awesome cup of locally grown coffee before the the tour. They even have small rooms to stay overnight!

Learnt about this NGO which supports about 80 disabled people in an effort to make them more independent. NGO started by Petr Kocnar from Prague to help disabled people gain new skills, confidence and a place in the job market. Their main activity is training them in basket weaving and craft making. Once the product is completed the people receive an above marker price for their product, even when it is not sold yet. Next to this they also organise 3-hour walking tours through the area of Gikondo. In 3 hours time one gets an insight in the culture, history and daily life of Gikondo. Tour includes local snacks like Chapatis and sugar cane while also a visit to a milk bar is included. Interesting part of the tour is visit to fruit and vegetables market and charcoal market. Choice of morning and afternoon tour.

Placide is a fantastic guide and it was great to have a tour of the area and learn about the organisation. The programs offered are varied and interesting.

I had an amazing time with Placide, the tour is fantastic, it makes you discover area of Kigali you would never see by yourself! The project is really cool and social, helping to empower women with disabilities. I totally recomand it!

I spent a day at this amazing organisation yesterday and highly recommend it. After a chat with Petr the founder over snacks, Placide the manager took me on a walking tour of the area which was very unhurried and full of interesting stops. I learned a lot and he was great company. We then returned and shared lunch with everyone there. After lunch I had a go at basket making - the ladies were very patient! Altogether it was an informative, relaxed and very enjoyable day with a bonus of purchasing some lovely and very professional handicrafts. What a great place!
