This balloon ride over the Serengeti plain provided views from an airborne perspective that were totally amazing. Balloon operator was top notch with transportation pickup and travel to the breakfast afterwards. Seeing the day getting started for the wildlife was outstanding : the wildebeest and zebra great migration with the sheer numbers in the herds and the hyenas , elephants and giraffes out and about. Also you are able to see the vastness of the plain itself. I was a little skeptical about doing this activity because I am afraid of heights, but the ride is so smooth and there was so much to see that this was not an issue. The champagne toast celebration after the flight was fun. The follow-on “English Breakfast” outside in the park after the ride (that is part of the package) was good but the balloon ride was the definite main event.

Big thanks to Captain Trevor who gave us an extraordinary experience, it is a bit expensive compare to the hot air balloon event in other country but it is absolutely worthwhile and stunning to see the animals from this angle. We fly in the sunrise followed by the champagne and a decent breakfast in the wild, it is so much more than we expected. I strongly recommend this book activity if you go to Tanzania.
