We booked an umbrella and two sunbeds, between July and August 2024, for 15 days at Astoria Beach in Sottomarina. First period in zone F, then relax zone. This is the most beautiful stretch of beach in Sottomarina, the Bagno as well, always very nice and clean. There are many facilities: large parking, swimming pool, tennis courts, beach volleyball, always clean bathrooms, with hot showers and cabins. Dog beach with all services etc. (See site). Umbrellas on the beach far apart.
We booked both online and personally at the info point with Anna, professional, kind and affable, the most available to welcome and meet any requests.
The beach staff works hard to keep everything perfectly tidy. Among all we name Francesco and Stefano, 19 and 17, tireless, professional and always kind. Well done! Good guys!
Note of merit:
Inclusiveness project with beach stations for prams and walkway to the shoreline. Special prams are available for swimming in the sea.
Negative note:
Despite there is a municipal ordinance that prohibits smoking on the beach unfortunately many, too many, smoke comfortably lying on sun loungers. I must say that the staff intervenes promptly by reminding them of the ban on smokers and pointing them to the smoking area which is an area near the bar. Besides, those who smoke have the damn habit of covering up butts... If any smoker is reading: since you have no respect for the environment, have it at least for the beach staff who turn under the scorching sun to pull up your butts with the net. Maleducati!
Returning to Astoria Beach.. Choose it because it is the most beautiful and well-kept in Sottomarina.

The municipal ordinance banning smoking on beaches is not respected at all. They all smoke and there is no control by the staff, even in case of reports. If you are non-smoking highly discouraged. It pretends to be a beach for children but instead of breathing the iodine of Submarine they breathe only smoke

The pool is divided into relaxation area and swimming area. I must say that the relaxation area, not very large but well done, has its why.
The swimming area is beautiful but unfortunately populated by tourists who dive without any call.
Excessive entry price for a simple pool, but you can stay there if you go once in a while.
Between parking and everything you spend in two 50 euros.

We come to the sea as often at the weekend, we leave later and since our usual beach was already full we decide to stop here. Once the parking lot has reached the total occupancy of the predetermined places you can not continue to park cars in every corner to raise € 7 each because then a security speech takes over that in case of danger then are trouble. ..and also the counters on cars because the put like sardines are charged to customers because no one responds. We have been customers for about 30 years... and for the last 4 we have gone with our poodle but unfortunately the dog area has forced us not to return again... dogs without a leash, staff who should check the bar more than a few times from Paola..children running everywhere...with dogs getting agitated every two minutes...

Living a few km from Sottomarina we often book in various beach clubs on the coast, this year we have been to this beach about ten times
Some episodes that left us perplexed:
We book two sunbeds and a gazebo umbrella (those with an increased cost) and since my son has support in a cabin a few meters away I send the two children there to be in the company of their friends and my partner and I sit underneath the beach umbrella.
At a certain point they come to us to ask for water and immediately two lifeguards arrive like hawks to ask for the receipt and to tell us that the two boys could not stay there because it is an area for adults
When I explain the situation to them they say that everything is fine as if to imply that for that time they could turn a blind eye and I pointed out to them that the police should also act with the vuccumpras who disturb an area called relaxation every 3 minutes. Shameful
Second episode
Online booking made at the beginning of the week for Sunday, the site management often messes up with the dates in the sense that if you select a day, check the availability of the area and then go back to change the area it resets the date and takes you back to the same day in which you are linked to, I repeat, I have booked 10 times this year and have encountered the problem several times
I arrive at the beach this morning and I realize that the reservation has been assigned to Friday
When we arrived at the management they told us that the reservation was wrong and that they would put us in 10 rows and pay a surcharge.
For a site that works badly I find myself in the tenth row and I have paid a premium always with the same dismissive treatment that characterizes this beach
"If you're not there, someone else will be there" is the philosophy of this bathroom.
See for yourself if you want to be treated like a number on a receipt used to fill a beach or look for something better
For us this is the last time

essendo una spiaggia pubblica il cane deve essere sempre al guinzaglio. dove ci sono i lettini nell'area riservata se il suo cane è tranquillo e l'ascolta allora li può anche tenerlo non al guinzaglio ma sempre e comunque deve rimanere accanto a Lei e al suo ombrellone senza andare di qua o di là.
Mentre in acqua c'è una zona preferenziale dove allora può lasciare il cane libero di nuotare senza guinzaglio.

Consiglio di contattare direttamente il centro prenotazioni: il personale è cortese e disponibile (a me avevano inviato due preventivi). Il servizio, lo ribadisco, è ottimo.
