You can visit it only from April to September apparently the other months you can not go there, they could at least publish the timetables and months since at the embarkations we found timetables of 2024 and thanks to an inhabitant we knew that until April you can not reach the island

By the end of September, perhaps due to the imminent closure, the island was in absolute abandonment.

A very peaceful island with few historical buildings and lovely forest. We took a ferry with a few more passengers on board. You can walk around and through the island in a couple of hours. For most of our walk we didn't see our fellow passengers because they went in another direction. So, walking through the forest and alongside the church and monastery felt as if we were alone on the island. At the end we had refreshing drinks at the beach bar with a very friendly lady.

On an oppressively hot day (35 degrees!) opting for this destination was a super happy choice! Lovely place, quiet, green and shaded. We stopped to recover from the heat on a meadow and then followed the path that runs along the island. Really very nice, soothing, pleasant
There are two dining options not far from the boarding and an equipped beach. If it had been cooler we would have climbed to the top but I think today was great so

The island is very pretty, it allows you to take a walk all around in a shady lakeside setting. There is a restaurant and a bar where you can have a meal and there are many places to sit and have picnics or sunbathe. Also suitable for children. In the upper part there are the ruins of a church and the ancient monastery used as a place for exhibitions and events. Recommendation for a day of relaxation and silence.

I found it less interesting than Isola Maggiore. We were on a Saturday afternoon but we found that the structures to be viewed were closed to the public; I can not tell you why. There are 3 trails, one of which leads to the highest part of the island, but I did not go because the heat stopped me.
There are some bars, beaches, picnic areas where you can stop, see or dive into the lake.
I personally seeing the water, I lost the desire immediately.

In May we went by ferry with a school trip to the Polvese Island; the ride under the sun is not really a walk to do with children but the view and nature to discover is undoubtedly fantastic. You must well equip yourself with food, water and hats because there are no big trees along the way; bathrooms are available at the beginning of the tour. The Guide explains with a wealth of information all the ancient and modern history of the island.

I do not understand this craze for the island, with the stagnant waters of the island, there is an invasion of mosquitoes (including in the shuttle boat where the curtains are filled with them) , when arriving at the dock we discover a large quantity of dead fish that float or are stranded (the smell of dead fish is there too)
In terms of things to see: the monastery is indicated on some of the signs that we follow then suddenly at a crossroads no indication so the marking is medium, regarding the castle there remains only "the entourage " , there are stairs to climb to the top of the tower but they are not accessible , the church is closed so you can only see the outside.
In short, if you want to be right in the middle of the trees why not, if you want to take full eyes pass your way because there is not much to see ...

Nothing exceptional to see but nice little walk in the greenery and small beach quiet very nice! Bar outside the pier!

It is a beautiful island, but there is not much to do. Some remains to visit but only the contours of the castle remain for example.
Presence of a hotel, bars/restaurants and a beach (desert).
Lots of mosquitoes!
Nice to spend about 2 hours there.
The crossing is by draghetto from San Feliciano (13 minutes).
Beautiful free parking near the small port.

vorrei sapere dove si acquista il biglietto per poter visitare il castello, la chiesetta e il giardino acquatico e se si tratta di una visita guidata

L'isola è un parco visitabile gratuitamente e si accede liberamente a tutti i siti tranne che al giardino. La chiesa purtroppo è chiusa. Si può effettuare una visita guidata (non so se anche questa gratuita).

My friend and I brought to Isola Polvese a little chihuahua and she was allowed on the island, we could take her to The beach too!
