I visited a lot as a kid but haven’t been in a while. I brought my dog to do some training with him and it was a lovely day out.
I like the off leash and on leash areas being distinguished so there aren’t just dogs running around everywhere. The cafe area is also nice. As a kid I would’ve loved the water features to play in too.

John Coles is a nice park in the middle of Chippenham. It is pretty big with plenty of places to sit, take your dog or have a stroll. It is always well maintained and clean and doesn't seem to have a problem with litter like some parks do.
I usually like to take a walk around on my way to town and always enjoy the plants and trees. It also have a park and tennis courts attached.
John Coles is a good place for a picnic and there is a bandstand that sometimes has various events. It always has a good atmosphere and never seems to have much trouble.
There are many different exits and entrances and is well constructed in that respect. It's a nice park to either walk through or spend a little more time in.

Visiting friends, stopped off at the John Coles Park on the northern side of Chippenham with the kids.
Nice large park, well maintained with lots of walkways, childrens play area and picnic area.
Small friendly cafe on-site.
If in town, well worth stopping off to let the kids blow off steam!

A wonderful green space with something for everyone, including kids play area, dog walking zones, lots of benches, a cafe, and outdoor sports facilities. I think more could be done to use the park to educate visitors about wildlife and nature and the changes we all need to make to preserve and protect it. Love that the cafe encourages people not to use disposable cups & would like to see it do more green initiatives.

We were visiting relatives in Chippenham and decided to see what this park had to offer. The Council manages it as an amenity for the locals, with plenty of green areas and trees, as well as the obligatory Bandstand (popular free Sunday afternoon concerts from May – September), tennis courts, Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) for e.g. football and basketball, a playground and a Refreshment Kiosk.
The Splashpad is for children under 12 (open from May – September) and is very popular with our relatives in the area.
We spent less than an hour walking around on a cold January day but you could obviously spend much more time on sunnier days!
Alderman John Coles (1842-1916) was a businessman and benefactor whose legacy enabled the purchase of this park, opened 23 May 1923.
The Council sees John Coles Park as "the jewel in our crown, a beautiful green space in the heart of Chippenham". We can see why!
Parking may be a problem, as there is only a very small car park off Fleet Road, but we managed to park just near it.

Lovely large park for all generations to enjoy. Well landscaped and looked after. We enjoy walking, cycling and scooting around the park. Children love the park and splash pad in the summer months. The ground in the playground can be very muddy and wet in the winter months, so wellies and splash suits are recommended.
Cafe with friendly staff, serving a good selection of drinks and treats. My kids love the Swedish Glace vegan ice cream cones.

A lovely and clean family setting. Park equipment very well maintained. Cafe taking card and cash manned by a polite and friendly gentleman. Thanks for great service.

Great to have such a fantastic facility in this small town. Beautifully gardened and well-maintained with space for exercise and leisure with a variety of sports facilities. Toilets are clean and free to use. Modern children’s playground. Limited parking but central location makes it accessible

What a lovely park, playground and splash pad. The kids had so much fun here that we went back 3 times on a short holiday in the area!

I have a 2 year old daughter with a severe peanut allergy. How accommodating can the resort be.
Can it guarantee that certain foods are peanut free and how much peanut/ peanut product does it use in the meal preparation ?
