A good area for a short stroll. You will see a fort and a yacht harbor and some park areas. It is at the port, close to the cruise ships, and there are restaurants nearby.

This fortress looks more impressive from the outside than inside. Once through the gate, there is a pathway up to the main square which has cannons pointing out to sea. The round tower is closed. It is free to walk around the square and sit on the walls and picturesque for photos

We were on a guided tour and stopped here for a quick visit. It’s a fairly understated fortification but with good views and a few cannons

Die Festung bietet einen schönen Ausblick über die vorgelagerten Schären und die Küstenlinie. Zu Fuss erreicht man in weniger als 10 Minuten die Einkaufsstrasse, den Dom und den Fischmarkt.

En fin plass å besøke når du er på sightseeing. Plassen er stor og har et par benker som du kan sitte å sole deg der. Stor plass der ungene kan løpe rundt. Pass på kanten, der er det bratt ned.

by its unimpressive appearance (how did one manage not to storm it for hundreds of years?), one is tempted to walk past it. which would certainly be a mistake. Nevertheless, the overall impression is reserved.

This is a beautiful place where events are arranged. It also is very cosy for romantic dates. The coming weekend on 15th and 16th of July (2022), there will be a house music festival which will be arranged, so the place is going to be closed for tourists. The festival is called Soldager på Christiansholm Festning on facebook! A great opportunity to dance in a historic place!

Small fort with a smaller sign out front. It was locked up and no info outside on when or if it is open for tours. Asked at the City Hall and was told that it is only open in the summer. Wish I could have gone inside.

Walking from the port we saw this fort on our route, so we wandered in and had a look around. It is really well preserved and there are cannons pointing out to sea.
You can picture this back in the times when a fort was a necessary building to protect the town and its population. The views back out to sea are fantastic. Make sure you include this in your your walking tour of Kristiansand!
