The church and monastery are amazing sites to see. I would recommend skipping everything else except these. The "bakery" hasn't seen a nun since around 2014. Alledgedly they use the nuns' recipes. Sweets were OVERPRIDCED, overly surgary and not worth it.

I'm only going for cannoli! Then there would also be more, such as the Baroque chapel etc.... But do you want to put the memory that leave the cannoli of this sweet? Unsurpassed. Second only to those of the Extra Bar of Piana of the Albanians. A 3.5€ cannoli but they are big.

This was an accidental find. Paid the €10 to do the church, roof terraces and the monestary. What a find. The views from up top are great bjt the stairs are steep and there is sometimes traffic. Stupid Italians barged past us and then got trapped by upcoming tourists.
The QR codes were great for those with data but there was free wifi. The English guides were helpful.
The bakery at the end, we were actually taken to by a food guide the following day, as the best cannoli in town. So really happy to have found that gem too!

This church is glorious. I've visited a lot of churches and this is one of the best.
After you've visited, don't miss the cannoli. Follow the signs to the bakery and get in line. But plan this for your dinner- they are enormous- but so delicious you will eat the whole thing! Go well dressed- you'll have to sit outside to eat in the cloister garden.

This church together with the monastery represents a wonder you will be amazed and above all the visit of the monastery with inside the garden and the incredible pastry looking at the crypts going on the roofs going inside the church where three cloistered nuns lived until 2014everything will make you speechless

Church and Monastery of Santa Caterina d'Alessandria is an awesome church located in Bellinni and Pretoria Squares in the center of Palermo. It is an awesome church built in the 16th Century and it was finished in the 18th Century. From the outside it seems like a "normal" church with a bell tower in the middle of the main facade. Inside, it is wonderful! You can see very rich decorations of the main nave! Really awesome! It is incredible! Also, you can see the terrace with very nice views of the Prettoria Square and Fountain, which are below; and also the city and the mountains. You can see the cloister and a Arab terrace, bothery nice. Inside the monastery, there is a bakery and dessert shop (I Segreti del chiostro, the cloister secrets in English), where you can taste some local desserts like marzipan cake or masteries cake. Fantastic!

The Church is exquisite. It's artwork and stonework is beautiful and the ornateness is unexpected. The monastery is sparse (as it was when it was functioning). The highlight is the Church and the bakery. The bakery (at the end of the tour or you can do in on your own) uses the same recipes from when they originally started. The desserts are huge, and delicious. There is a subtle difference from what you get today.

We stayed in this monastery .. lovely to visit .. you can see the places where and how the cloistered nuns lived until 2014 .. then .. you can taste the various desserts prepared with the ancient recipes left by themselves .. excellent Sicily cannolo also itself price and a little 'exaggerated € 3.50 but it is worth

Like many churches in Italy, Santa Caterina church of Palermo is steeped in history and is full of incredibly detailed artwork. I often wonder how the designers managed to get to such a height to create such wonderful artwork on the ceilings of these buildings.
Be sure to explore the whole church gardens, as next to the church is a very nice courtyard, dominated by a fountain similar to that of Fontana della Vergonga, but smaller.
