The University Quarter
Tem 2021
We always spend a lot of time in this district as we have good friends who live here. But we love the Place Contrascarpe and just sit in a cafe for a long time. Lots of schools and monuments here. Enjoy tea in the garden at the Mosque. Local markets are good.

Great area
Kas 2019
We spent several hours wandering the streets of this district. We particularly enjoyed the Latin Quarter. Some of the sights also include the Sorbonne University, the Pantheon, Museum of Natural History and the many bookshops. ANd of course, there are countless cafes everywhere you go.

My favorite part of Paris
Ara 2019
The 5th arrondisement is home to the Latin Quarter and the world famous Sorbonne university. Many student and tourists filled cafes and restaurants at reasonable prices are around. The area also has many bookshops, as well the vintage book sellers along the Seine quai. The imposing Pantheon mausoleum is there holding the remains of notables like Voltaire and Marie Curie.
Generally it's a laid back and relaxed area and one of my favorite parts of Paris.

Our Friends Live Here
Eki 2019
We come here to see our friends and have dinner out in great restaurants, and then after dinner drinks at the Place Contrscarpe. We have also stayed here in hotels and apartments and it is a great location in the middle of many of the tourist sites. This is the university district.

Students and average people
Eki 2019
This is a neighborhood where one will find average people and students all around. Filled with History, such as arènes de Lutè e and Panthéon, to art de vivre, such as rue Moffetard and jardin des plantes, there are plenty of small food shops, bookshops, dairis, butchers, bars and a nice walk till the mosque of Paris. I used to live here and i miss it so much! A jewell in Paris.

Latin Quarter and the Sorbonne
Eyl 2019
This was the neighborhood of education. Near the church of St-Julien le Pauvre there were "schools" made up of bales of hay that the students would sit on and be taught. The street Rue de Fouarre (roughly hay bales) is located near where this happened. There is also the Pantheon here and the Rue Mouffetard area where the likes of James Joyce and Ernest Hemingway called home. It is also home to the narrowest street in Paris, Rue du Chat-qui-peche, between Rue de la Huchette (home to a great jazz Caveau) and Quai St-Michel.

The One District You Cannot Skip!
May 2018 • Çiftler
Everything that represents Paris rolled up into one arrondissement! Ah Paris! Cafes and casual dinning in the city of leisure and lights. if you could only visit one district, i would say stay in the 5th. There are many close seconds! Must see is the Pantheon, Musee Cluny, Saint-Etienne du Mont, Arenes de Lutece, Saint-Serverin, and Shakespeare & Company Bookstore. There are plenty of restaurants and all cultures are touched upon. Maybe not soul food, but you get everything else.

There are gardens for relaxing and night clubs for the partying type. if you want to include Jardin du Luxembourg by all means do so, it sits right on the border of the 5th and 6th. The only thing missing is the high rise for aerial photography; however, I doubt Parisians miss this at all.

I like to stay on Rue Des Bardins at a hotel across from Saint-Nicolas Church, another landmark. It allows me a quick walk down to the Seine and in the morning a quick walk to my American Breakfast at Breakfast in America ( I am not big on crepes!)

Its a do not miss!

My Neighborhood in Paris!
Eyl 2018 • İş
Since 2007, the 5th Arrondissement has been neighborhood and home when I am in Paris. It has become my home base with easy access to public transportation (METRO, BUS, RER) and so many places are within an easy walk. The 5th Arrondissement is an area where many Parisians call home and work.

The neighborhood is not solely based on tourism with a mixture of universities, colleges, family owned businesses, and sighs for tourists like the Pantheon, Jardin des plantes, Musée de Cluny (Medieval time period), the Muséum National d'historie naturellé, Fountaine Saint-Michel and l'Institute du Monde Arabe to name a few. It also has many touristy based restaurants and shops located around Boulevard Saint Germain, Boulevard Saint Michel and the Quai de la Tournelle both in the 5th and 6th Arrondissements.

It is a place where I have made many friends and continue to explore the some hidden gems while feeling safe. As in many neighborhoods businesses come and go, hotels change ownership and are remodeled but for me the 5th Arrondissement remains my "Paris Home."
