Spontaneous visit when looking for things to do in Swindon and wish we had more time there.
They had an array of computers, well displayed and information given. There's even the opportunity to play some retro games. BF found the model of his first computer - Sinclair 128K 2+ and played Dizzy! #Nostalgia.
So interesting to see how the world of computers started and changed. Worth a visit, especially for younger gen to see what computers and gaming was like.
Shout out to the team too who were friendly and knowledgeable. Only name I got was Chris.

Excellent morning with my 2 older boys 22 and 24yrs and my husband playing old computer games.

Popped in with hubby (48 yrs) who has loved computers since he was very small. It is a lovely amble down memory lane as well as learning the early history of computing. Lots of different consoles to actually get to play on dating back to the 1970's at least. If you're a computer gamer enthusiast with children this is an excellent place to take them and share your child hood memories.
Priced perfectly, £10 for two adults, I think a family was £13.

An undiscovered gem that is very reasonably priced . Having visited and knowing how good it is, we would have paid triple the entry price and still have got our moneys worth vs most attractions. Me and my son spent hours in their having a great time. The curator was kind enough to take us through the history of early computing and let my son load a cassette game which was a special moment. We finished it off with a few hours gaming on newer consoles. Friendly and knowledgable staff, educational and fun as well as a lovely dose of nostalgia.

I'd wanted to visit the Museum of Computing for a long time, and took the opportunity to drag my family along on my birthday.
As a kid who grew up in the 80s, I remember the home micro scene well, and it's very well represented in this fascinating museum, stuffed to the gills with tons and tons of computers and micros from that era and beyond.
Though the museum is fairly small, there's a lot of fascinating facts and exhibits on show but the main draw is the working kit that's dotted around the place. Your chance to show your kids just how slow a copy of Paperboy 2 took to load on an old Amstrad CPC464!
Loved all the gaming stuff. Was surprised to see a lot of families in there literally zooming to the more recent consoles and taking up residence for the morning (given the entrance price of 12 quid for two adults and a 15 year old, that's a fairly expensive gaming session!)
Loved it though, and it was quite a sobering thought to see stuff that I'd once owned (and long disposed of) sitting in a museum, bringing back a lot of good memories.
The staff were really friendly and knowledgable too. Though it'll probably take you about an hour to see everything in detail, it's worth a visit just to remind you how rubbish modern videogaming is and how great stuff was back in the heyday of the 80s and 90s before games became hollow shells reliant entirely on DLC and downloadable content.

Great little museum, packed with lots of geeky, techy computers, video consoles and hand held games across the ages, several are available to play on. Nice to spend some time, and the staff were friendly. Worth a visit with you teenager..

Took my 9 year old son here on Saturday having never been before. Brilliant for nostalgia value and was great to show him how games used to be ‘in the good ol days’ (he seemed less than convinced but he loved playing the old consoles and hearing about how good i used to be at Mario 3). Helpful staff, great value and would definitely go back

An amazing attraction, in a small venue, will take you back over the decades, staff are very informative and helpful. Definitely worth the visit.
