We called in for a coffee and cake at about 11:45 on a Sunday morning. On entering the cafe there was a large sign saying breakfast was over (at 11:20, if I remember correctly) which was fine. We waited to be seated and the first thing the waitress told us was breakfast was over, which we said was fine. She then said there would be a long wait for coffee, the cafe didn’t seem particularly busy so we said it would be fine. It seemed like she didn’t really want us there but led us to a table. We ordered coffee and cakes which took about 15 minutes to arrive, after a slight mixup about one of the drinks - maybe a bit slow but it was a Sunday and we weren’t in a rush. The food and drinks were fine although my cinnamon bun had been heated quite a lot which was a bit weird as I hadn’t been asked if I wanted it heated. Our bill was about £12, which was fine, and the cafe itself and garden centre are lovely with lots of nice things on sale. There were at least 5 waiting staff, not to mention the people behind the counter making drinks,etc and others in the kitchen so I’m not sure what the problem was. The waiting staff (range of ages) did seem to be wandering backwards and forwards a lot, not necessarily carrying anything which made us wonder if they hadn’t been properly trained and didn’t really know what to do. Despite the initial comment about breakfast having finished we noticed one member of staff wandering around with a cooked breakfast well after 12pm (and eventually taking it back to the kitchen). There is a large seating area outside which was empty, I’d be concerned about going on a summer day when those tables were busy as the staff today didn’t seem to cope with the tables inside which were at less-than-full-capacity. A mixed experience overall, and a bit weird as we couldn’t understand why the staff were struggling…

Thank you Dorney Court and especially our beautiful guide Louise for a wonderful family morning in a private tour of Dorney Court. What an incredible history and we loved Louise’s stories - would highly recommend especially for those who love history and movies!

I cannot say what a perfect wedding I had at Dorney Court. The staff were absolutely amazing! So attentive and catered for your every need! Everything tan so smoothly it was perfect. I worried about how it would all work out and would our guests be happy but I shouldn’t have, everything fell into place and with the help of the wonderful Operations Director who made sure we had the most magical day! Thanking them does not seem enough!

What a gorgeous hidden gem in Berks, over five centuries of Palmer family history deeply entwined with the history of England, and perhaps the most charming and photogenic exterior of any Tudor manor house (and we've been to dozens), it's no wonder it's been chosen for so many period films and dramas!
Our guide Andrews was extremely knowledgeable and generous with his tour, which turned out to just be us on the last tour of the day. Wonderful experience, and highly recommended to history buffs.

What an absolute gem we stumbled upon while out and about in Bucks!! The house is a stunning beauty, the garden is spectacular, the church moving and intimate. The hour long tour was informative and entertaining (Russell was fantastic!) We really appreciated the family's generosity in allowing tours of their ancestral family home. I've honestly never seen any house as old, beautiful, and lovingly cared for before. Also, the many generations of family portraits showed the Palmers to be an absolutely good looking bunch no matter what century they lived. Great day out!

Great place to visit - beautiful Tudor house and gardens. It is open to the public some dates each year, so check their website. You may have seen it feature as a location in several films. We had a guided tour with Louise who was brilliant and told us so many interesting things about the house.

Having always wanted to visit Dorney Court and never actually managed to pick a date when it’s open to the public we actually managed to visit today. The fact that we didn’t know anything about the history of the property or the residents over the centuries made things even more interesting having a guided tour. I won’t spoil anything other than to say that the name Dorney means bee island.

Outstanding house and grounds, steeped in history, and royal connection, The guided tour was excellent, really informative and very reasonably priced.

We were the wedding DJs here for Luci and Rich at the weekend at had a brilliant time. Our rustic DJ set up looked fantastic, we were really lucky with the weather and had the doors open most of the night. It was soo cool watching people dancing around the fire pit to our music!
Everything went seamlessly thanks to the team here who were unbelievable and a pleasure to work with.

Andrew Stafford was our guide at Dorney Court on 29th August. He regaled us with stories and historical facts about the house and family for an hour and a half. It was absolutely fascinating. Thank you.
