Surprisingly interesting and wide collection. Would be a great museum to take young children as it's got a wide variety of subjects in the collection, but is small enough they won't get overwhelmed like the big london museums. We took some aussie relatives that were visiting and they loved it.

An excellent small museum full of interesting exhibitions. Our favourite was the ancient Egypt area, which sparked a new interest in my son who was fascinated by the display and is keen to learn more at home. Staff were all lovely too and loos clean. It's free entry but you can give a donation. We spent an hour there. Really good place to visit if in the area.

We had a tour of the museum during the pandemic. Considering the constraints it was very good. Definitely recommended

First visit, and what a great surprise. An eclectic and unusual museum which "brings the world to Haslemere". The geology exhibition is fabulous (my wife is a geology fan and rates it as one of the best she's seen), and I thoroughly enjoyed the history section, even though the info panels could be updated slightly - for example the descriptions of post-Roman Britain follow the now outdated "conquest and migration" model. This is not a "local" museum, it brings a global perspective. The small Egyptology room has some superb finds, for example. I also really liked the way the museum deals sensitively with issues such as the display of human remains, whilst still preserving the eccenticities of Victorian and early 20th century collections. Overall its a beautiful place, with a nice garden trail too, and an exceptionally friendly lady on the entrance desk. Highly recommended.

Good way to spend the afternoon. Lots to see in the museum to keep both me and our little one engaged. There were constant call of "Look at this, no look at this". Even out in the garden, we got to see a bee hive and learn all about it from the bee keepers. And a lovely walk down to the pond an back.

lovely couple of hours spent here, kids were fully engaged with the items on display. plenty of social distancing measures in place.

We always head straight for the dinosaur roar exhibit which you enable by putting your hand inside a dark hole! Still popular even though my youngest is now 10. Also, interesting local exhibitions which rotate throughout the year.

Very good for school trips, wouldn't just go there though. Shop could be less expensive. Could have tour guides? Fun though. Firework were absolutely mesmerising though.

Took our 8 year old here and I think we enjoyed it as much as he did. Small museum but plenty to see with many interesting items on display spanning all the natural sciences. There was also some art exhibitions too in a separate part of the museum. We will be back in the warmer months to the museum as haslemere is a nice village also.

Youy don`t expect to find much focus on geology in Surrey but this museum is excellent for its overview of the local rocks and sands
