The drinks were nice, and the staff friendly enough, but the atmosphere and theming was all over the place. The idea of a horror/hell themed cocktail bar was very enticing but what photos we saw online did not match up to our experience. We went on a Saturday night and the place was virtually empty, the decor was well done but the vibe was offset greatly by blaring 00's R&B music which doesn't quite fit the theme of "purgatory" very well. The menus were tatty torn and sticky, the drinks were lazily themed and had even worse table serves which was dissapointing considering you were paying equal to what you would at The Alchemist or similar themed bars which are far more impressive.
Overall a very dissapointing experience, we'd booked a table for 2 hours but left within half an hour.

Ok. 10 years of visiting. Nick, KiKi ND the rest of the gang knock it out of the park!! It can get busy but they will do it! Love you guys and don't stop! Yall make Purg what it is!🤙

We visited the Purgatory bar before doing the escape room. We had a brilliant time doing the Gates of Hell escape room. We arrived half an hour earlier and enjoyed 2 for 1 on cocktails. The man running the bar was really friendly and the drinks he made were lush!
Connor, our gamesmaster, was great. He explained everything clearly and with great enthusiasm which really got us in the spirit of things.
As escape room novices we thought the game was challenging but we had so much fun trying to work out all the clues. We were so pleased that we managed to complete the game with 3 mins to spare, with support from the gamesmaster behind the scenes!! I would definitely recommend for a fun afternoon activity.

Great escape room with a nice balance between fun and challenging. All clues and puzzles were solvable without huge leaps in logic. The GM was very charismatic and played into the experience for our sakes - plus helpful at the times when we needed a nudge. Would go again when the second room opens.
The bar upstairs was a unique setting for us and our post-victory cocktails went down especially well!

We had an absolutely brilliant time. First we did the escape room which was super spooky and really well thought out - we managed to beat it but it was a real challenge!
Then we spent the evening in the bar - totally gorgeous cocktails, really well thought out and themed to the bar. Wonderful service and even the option to order in food from the neighbouring Japanese restaurant. We had a wonderful time - thank you!

Had a great tie in the escape room followed by fantastic cocktails at the bar afterwards. A big thanks to Anuj, Timothy, Lucas and Destiny for superb service.

This is a review of the Gates of Hell escape room, not the bar. The set was great, but some things didn’t work properly and the GM could not have been less interested if he tried 😂🤦🏻♀️

Love an establishment that cares about their customers, and furry friends too (dog-friendly)! My husband and I were able to spend a few hours at this themed bar with our dog and enjoyed a variety of the creative drinks. The owner brought her water and it was such a nice time with others in the bar and she was so happy with all the attention. We felt there was a lot of care put into making sure our experience was really good. The staff seem to be enjoying themselves too.
On a different evening I was also able to try the escape room with a group of friends (5 of us). Highly recommend - and it never hurts to do a shot or two before descending the stairs. We thought the room was creative, and fun to go upstairs after and have a drink. Happy to report we successfully escaped :)
