This was a beautiful place when I visited it 11 years ago - a clean waterfall surrounded by jungle and with only few visitors who only came by boat.
Now this place has been developed, most of the jungle is gone and people can access via the land site with their vehicles.
This leads to a situation where local business has been established, the place is full of little stalls offering food, drinks and Karaoke. And everybody is doing their best to create a really nice atmosphere with adding with tons of trash and cigarette tips.
Luckily there are still some hidden treasures around, waterfalls which are only known to locals and access possible only via boat.

It was great to swim under the fast running waters ........ well worth the effort to get there and surprisingly the water was not too cold.

This is worth the walk up stream to jump into the rock pools and sit in the waterfall, beautiful and fun for all.

We went with the long tail boat from the morning and asked to have our resort kayak pulled with it. Waterfall itself is so so... seen better ones in Cambodia... Nonetheless amusing activity for our baby and many low water pools to play in. Around the waterfall the usual plastic dirt can be seen as in the rest of Asia...
Kayaked back with our baby onboard the whole river back to the resort. This was the nicest part of the day... very tranquil...

It was an amazing experience there. That place is good for people who loves nature and quiet . The rocks are a little bit slimy. You better wearing socks if you wanna swim.
What i don't like about it is the garbage. It seems like Khmer people are less educated about the garbage They just throw it where ever they want to.

The road is a bit tricky to get there (on our motorbikes). Nice to see the river, waterfall is okay but lots of locals and the eternal rubbish.
Few shops selling food and drinks.
If you REALLY have spare time.

To get to the waterfall you will see a sign after you have crossed Tatai Bridge - roughly 2km up the road on the right,
You will pay 1 USD per person to enter and the dirt road you will need to use is very bad and rocky.
After reaching the end of the road you will have to park and take a very steep path down the mountainside... be careful ESPECIALLY after rain as it will be immensely slippery.
At the bottom you will be greeted by what seems to be a permanent village built around the waterfall - filled with shops and what seems to be local houses.
Obviously, huge amounts of garbage can be seen under houses and in open areas.
You can swim in the top part of the waterfall as it is fairly shallow - i would not try lower down as it becomes very rough.
Whilst you swim there you will probably see locals having a bath and washing their hair with shampoo next to you in the water - so not too kosher.
I obviously did not swim.
There is NO LIFEGUARD as could be expected, so be careful. IF YOU FALL DOWN THE FALL you are on your own!
It was okay to go but i wouldn't go back there or take people there to see it.

Not too busy albeit a few shops at the top selling drinks. Nice view and a quaint waterfall, offering an option to swim too. Bring socks if you intend to swim there

It’s about a 20 minute boat ride from
the NH48 bridge . I am afraid in January the falls are not at their best . It’s fun to clamber around the rocks ...be careful ..and the swim above the falls in clear water is good . The water below the falls was smelly on the day we were there so did not swim below . Unfortunately in-spite of public notices about litter visitors here leave mountains of plastic bottles and other unmentionables strewn around which makes for a wasted journey . It’s such a shame that thoughtless tourists spoilt it for everyone else .

Is this. Considered a malarial area?
Yazıldığı tarih: 1 Ekim 2018
Yes thanks for the question and for us we don't consider here in Tatai as a malaria area as since we have been welcoming many tourists local & foreigner almost a decade we never heard or affected any malary yet, thanks and hopefully you can enjoy a fresh holiday at the waterfall.... Take care and good luck for all your day.

Just north of the town of Tatai in Southern Cambodia. Ask anyone there and they can direct you to it.
