Yes very nice ok, ghost village completely full of restaurants. Yes, you eat well but if I come to eat why pay the entrance? Visit to the garden site inside, compulsory purchase of one of their products. One time it can be done, the next I'll have lunch elsewhere.

Magical place, lovely. I loved him at first sight. Breathtaking landscapes and suggestive corners. A little jewel in the heart of our beautiful Italy.

The city seen from afar has its charm, even the village is not bad. But the total lack of organization ruins the trip. Few parking lots, it is not marked if they are full, so everyone tries and after must turn and maneuver creating endless traffic jams, also the access road passes inside the narrow village of Bagnoregio and pedestrians and cars find themselves in a narrow passage. Entrance fee 5 euros (note how in Venice!!) per person and also pay children over 6 years, so for a family it is a lot, they could make packages for families or reductions for minors. Dirty bathrooms and for a fee.
So summarizing for 1h of visit you pay:
- parking (very distant because at 9.30 were already fully booked the nearest ones... are tiny!!!),
- entrance to the city,
- public bathroom
- ...and then you don't want to add a coffee or a bottle of water?
I do not recommend it to anyone if the City does not take steps for the organization and the rates

Nice city to visit.
Chaotic time, but the locals know how to welcome you.

Apart from the initial glance, it is an overrated village, complete with trattorias, restaurants and tourist-catching gadget shops.
The entrance fee to access the bridge and then the village is disproportionate, too high for a family of 4 (children over 6 years pay 5 euros). I suggest we adopt lower rates.

Shameful!
A town so attractive without parking and the few paid with machines or not working or requiring a degree in quantum engineering.
You deserve no one to visit you!

A spectacular village with breathtaking views. Particularly suggestive and characteristic especially in late afternoon and sunset. The ticket to enter costs 5 euros and you can pay it locally or online.

A premise: Civita is more beautiful outside than inside. Let me explain: seeing it from Bagnoregio actually takes effect, then once you arrive in the village you immediately notice the spirit "broaches money to tourists". There are only bars, restaurants, tacky souvenir shops and holiday homes. Seen two views you have seen everything for the "modica" there between 5 euro admission.
In Civita you pay for everything, entrance, bathrooms, parking, shuttle and even a ridiculous map on a sheet of paper (useless).
The village is made and studied to be visited together with a mess of people who wander the narrow streets and never go back. For this they make the most of the daily tourist who comes, looks, spends and leaves.
A real disappointment. For example, the ancient village of Castelnuovo di Porto (also closer to Rome) is worth much more and is much more characteristic.
Before you go to Civita know what you are facing, prepare your wallet and be aware of what you will see.

This village is charming and definitely worth a visit. The views inside the village are breathtaking. However, the village has lost some of its original charm due to the number of tourists and the numerous tourist businesses. Il Giardino del Poeta offers the best views of the country, with free admission or through the purchase of handicraft products such as jams, biscuits and pasta.
The tour of the village takes at least 2 hours at a fast pace, but I recommend taking at least 3, since you have to face a walk of about 600 meters with strong climbs and descents both in and out (the photos do not do justice, it is really steep). I recommend buying your ticket in advance to avoid long queues in the sun, especially in summer.

Spectacular view very nice village although a bit for "tourists", many restaurants, souvenir shops and a truly romantic atmosphere.

Hi there! I am considering a trip to Civita di Bagnoregio in early November, but worried that shops will not be open, and I am having difficulty finding this information anywhere online.
I am looking for a quiet, peaceful trip to a location with a gorgeous view, maybe a few dinners at a restaurant and a coffee shop to pop into. This seems like Civita di Bagnoregio but I worry everything will be closed. Does anyone know what is open in November?

I'm sure it is beautiful all year round. However, during our stay in May, most of the restaurants were not open which was very disappointing. They seem to open or close based on how busy it is. Views are amazing, but not guaranteed from the various accommodation properties. Make sure you verify the room has a view before you book.

Quale è il parcheggio dove lasciare l'auto e fare il biglietto per l'ingresso a Civita? Quanto tempo si impiega per una visita non celere ma neanche approfondita di Civita? Vale la pena di visitare anche la sottostante Bagnoregio?

I understand there’s a shuttle service going to and fro Orvieto. We are two adults. How much would it cost and how reliable is it… meaning will it take us back to Orvieto. Don’t want to be stranded.

We will be arriving in Rome next summer, we are wondering how best to get to Bagnoregio either from the airport or train station? I’ve read that there’s no byes to the town on Sunday. We will head there on a Thursday and leave Saturday back to Rome. Either via Orvieto or Viterbo. Any suggestions please and thanks.
