The visit to the abbey was suggested by a friend who was pleasantly impressed by the experience. The abbey is certainly a remarkable monument, but what made the visit truly unforgettable was the sympathy and expertise of our guide, Brother Michael, who was able to present the whole structure and life of the monks always in a lively and never boring way.

We visited the monastery with LUIGI, a passionate and very competent guide. At the end he revealed the "mystery" of the seven-pointed star... and thank goodness, otherwise I didn't sleep there at night! The only flaw was the tyrant weather, because the tour started at 11am and was supposed to end by 12.00pm, for obvious reasons of community rules. An extra half hour wouldn't hurt. Abbey and monastery are truly a precious stone set in the Euganean hills, vestiges of a past that is not so far from this sad present.
Very appreciable the shop with monastic products and the refreshment point open to pilgrims, with toilets and vending machines.
The visit to the monastery is without obligation to buy ticket, we recommend a small offer for the maintenance of the structure.
We are generous, that an aperitif costs more!

Great experience that allows you to see something of the life of the community, the Guide, very helpful, cultured and nice person, will give small samples of interesting events that have affected the abbey. It was not possible to visit the library, it will be for next time. The offer at the end of the tour is a must, the store has great products but probably for the authenticity not really cheap.

As per the title until a few days ago I was unaware of its existence. Nice abbey, really, if you are in the area of Abano or Padua deserves.

The leadership was a bad joke compared to what this monastery offers. Starting with the fact that there were only 5 people, two Italians and three Germans, the entire tour was held in Italian. No intentions to say anything in English, perhaps. In advance they asked if, French etc. then there was a flyer ready, that’s it. There are 4 cloisters, we were shown two. The library, the large church etc. were also not shown. If I had to pay anything for it, it would have been a star. You can save the way. Could you make more of it if you wanted to, but doesn't seem to be the case. Schade

A splendor of Opatija, with an aura of austerity that remains warm and welcoming to the visitor.
Nestled on the slopes of a lush hill (even in November, when we went there) and very well maintained and organized, the Abbey can be visited with a guide and tells centuries-old stories of commitment and devotion that regardless of whether you are a believer or not fascinate for the historical implications and customs.
Absolutely not to be missed is the real shop of the friars that produces wonders for lovers of organic and natural products. Be conquered by the hardworking Benedictine that is always accompanied by care and kindness, today as centuries ago (from what they tell them, and they do it well!)

I made purchases online:
crunchy if it tasted rancid (I admit they agreed to replace it)

Paid parking outside and inside the Abbey you couldn't park but cars entered despite the ban.

Fascinating abbey. The visit is carried out by a monk who releases culture with every word. Allow me a suggestion: a few more words about monastic life and not just the furnishings.

buongiorno, vorrei portare una comitiva di 45 persone a visitare l'abbazia. Vorrei sapere come prenotare una visita, se ci sono biglietti da acquistare o se è tutto gratuito. Grazie buona giornata.

La visita è gratuita ma é gradita un’offerta libera! Meglio sentire il priore dell’abbazia visto il numero della comitiva. Magari riserva una guida solo x voi! Buona visita!

Carissimo Giovanni ti riferisco circa quanto la struttura offre agli ospiti:
L'ospitalità è solo di carattere spirituale, cioè accolgono tutti coloro (uomini, donne, giovani, e sacerdoti) che intendono trascorrere presso il monastero alcuni giorni di preghiera e di ritiro spirituale. Ad essi danno la possibilità di condividere la vita monacale nella partecipazione al ritmo della giornata dei monaci fatto di preghiera, di lavoro, di studio, e di silenzio.
Per scouts e gruppi che si autogestiscono hanno una foresteria esterna con 18 posti letto, cucina e sala da pranzo. Anche se la disponibilità di locali è grande, tuttavia allo scopo di favorire fra gli ospiti un costante clima di raccoglimento, la l'ospitalità rimane limitata.
Su richiesta,i organizzano corsi di esercizi per sacerdoti, religiosi e seminaristi.
