Last weekend of the Pick your own season and there was still plenty of apples left on the trees. We also picked up some cider and raspberries. Perfect trip out from Central London via the Met line and a uber. It was a very welcoming and cozy farm and felt like I was visiting a friend's private orchard rather than a large scale farm.

We had such a great time, beautiful apples, nice owners. the farm has a real family feel to it, very cosy experience unlike some PTOs that feel like a supermarket. Only downside was lack of toilet.

Used Home Cottage as a stop-over from Devon to Suffolk. Very impressed. Not very far from M25. Will probably use this again next year to train into London.
Water, toilet dumping and battery charge if you need it.
Amazingly quiet considering its almost next door to M25, and Heathrow flights. Had no noise at all.
We stayed in September 2019....£10 for the 2 of us, our 2 Beagles and the 'van.

Re-visited Home Cottage Farm last week agog with anticipation of delicious apples like last year's - but not much left apart from one variety and Bramley cookers this year. Could find no plums left either nor damsons although another assiduous customer had found a small quantity. The proprietrix said the apple crop in one orchard had failed . Perhaps the early bird catches the worm or picks the apples! since another customer who spoke to us had earlier picked 3 full bagfuls. The little shop had cider, honey and some ready picked apples for sale. Will go earlier next year.

This is a great place to come for the kids, so they know that apples don't just come in plastic packaging from sainsburys! A chance to see where they're actually grown and where they come from. Our son picked loads of apples and surprisingly, some of the trees are quite little so he could pick his own for his little basket. Fabulously large orchard with so many different varieties of apples, some I'd never heard of. Lady who weighed out our wares was extremely friendly and helpful, we recommend the apple juice and I made a delicious apple crumble with some of the apples.

We only discovered Home Farm Cottage and their pick your own apples in the early autumn of 2017, but the apples remaining were delicious and we will return this year in the season when the 2018 harvest is ready. The proprietrix was pleasant and informative. We live a long way away over 25 miles but will make the trip there as freshly picked fruit is nicer than from the supermarket.

You can pick your own, or go into the barn and choose from apples already picked. There is a choice of 4-5 different apple types, some we-known, some lesser-known English names. Watch the noticeboard outside to see when they're open.

We have picked apples and plums here for years, when the owners children were quite young, they all mucked in, helping you if help was needed. A wonderful place to visit. Almost like going back in time. Wonderful

We drove here today to get some country air and pick out own fruit. What a treat! Such a lovely place, very tasty fruit - particularly the Spartan apples! Just made our own pie from the Cox apples too! Lovely friendly owners too.
