Het was een frisse julidag en het had geregeld. Maar juist hierdoor was het uitzicht over Le Tréport, Mers-les-Bains, de kustlijn met de kliffen, de zee en de prachtige luchten adembenemend mooi.

Magnificent view and walk along the cliffs. Accessible by stairs for sports enthusiasts and funicular for those who are not or cannot be, very practical!

The advantage of a panoramic view is that it allows you to have a global vision of the environment and to become aware of phenomena that you would not see on a smaller scale.
It is therefore at the top of the Tréport cliffs that you can admire the sea, the cliffs and the city when the weather is good.
In foggy weather, the place still has its charm with colors that blend together and sounds that we perceive but without being able to associate objects with them.
From above, we realize how much urban planning matters for the quality of life and the aesthetics of a place.
In Tréport, town planning has spoiled the appeal of the old town, in particular that of the Cordiers district with its tall, narrow houses attached to each other and which above all formed a homogeneous whole in style.
The hideous and endless modern building blocks block the seafront and relegate the entire old neighborhood to the background.
As for the industrial activities of the port, they are interwoven into the framework of daily life creating a very modern ugliness and confusion bringing their share of inconveniences.
Modernism has transformed everything and relegated both the essential and the aesthetic and daily pleasure to the dustbin of history.

It is quite easy to park in the town center of Le Tréport and what's more, parking is free on weekdays... a nice plus.
It is possible to go up to the viewpoint in 2 ways: on foot or by funicular.
We went up with the funicular which is also free with a waiting time of around 5-10 minutes.
We went down the stairs (around 350 steps) which remain well signposted but are nevertheless quite rough.
The view is magnificent, especially on a clear day with the possibility of seeing as far as the Ault cliffs via Mers.
Do not hesitate to take a deviation via the church (bifurcation during the climb), which is also a picturesque monument of the city.
In conclusion: completely free activity and worth the trip.

Spectacular view from the cliffs.
If it's windy, it blows really hard at the top. Bring fleece and a windproof jacket in winter.

The view is absolutely amazing. The Bay and open sea are beautiful and inspiring even in the drizzle and cold of October.
The lift/train/finicula to the top is nice as well.

Very nice location, free to visit, when the weather is nice the view is great, you look 50 meters down, also a beautiful view of the city.

You need to take the funicular up and enjoy the beauty of the opening view of the city and the water. They were filming a movie in front of us, but they weren’t allowed to go everywhere.
