This Martin Guitar tour was far better then we expected. You learn a lot and the tour guide is great. I cant believe how big Martin Co is! Worth every minute especially if youre a Martin owner like I am. The museum is a lot of reading (obviously ) but well worth the reading so you understand the instruments. If you appreciate guitars youll really appreciate the work these employees put into making the guitars. They really do pride themselves in a well made instrument. Stay in a hotel (Tru) in Easton, its only 8 minutes drive from the factory.

We are from Ontario Canada and for my 70th birthday my wife surprised me and we went to the Martin guitar factory for the tour. I have a Martin and always wanted to do this tour. We stayed in Easton because there is nothing in Nazareth, believe me. We stayed at the Tru Hilton Easton and it turns out it is only 4.7 km from Martin Guitar.
We booked the tour on line and they emailed us the tickets. Upon arrival I couldn’t believe how big Martin factory is. Huge. The tour is a small group of 10 people and you have headphones so you can hear the tour guide. Our guide was Susan and she was great. Worked there 36 years. Susan explains the entire process as she goes along. The tour took 50 minutes. I never knew there were over 300 steps in making a guitar. There is a museum to explore and of course the “1833 Shop” to buy Martin items. If you take the time to read about most of the Martin museum items you will gain a lot of knowledge. My wife doesn’t play guitar but even she said it was really interesting. I am so glad we toured this place and saw the labour and skill put into a well made American item.

Fantastic Experience! If you are in the area, do not miss this gem! The museum was a great visual and educational experience. The tour (Ashley (?)second time leading the tour) did a wonderful job. I took my husband here as it had been on his bucket list since he was a teenager. He owns two Martin guitars & I think the one is a D67. I don't play an instrument but am a huge music appreciator. I share this as the experience was wonderful for both of us.

Really enjoyable tour of the factory, with a friendly tour guide. Awesome seeing how the guitars are handcrafted. As a left handed guitar player, I was really disappointed that I couldn't try any of the guitars available to play.

It was a great tour! Very interesting and entertaining for myself who's an avid musician, but my family found it to be a great time as well. I'd recommend checking it out.

Tours are given in small groups of no more than 6 with headphones so you can hear the guide over any noise from machines. Tyler, our guide, was very personable and knowledgeable. It was fascinating to see the various stages of assembly performed by people who were experts at their part of the process. Some steps were less clear - necks suddenly became attached to guitars without seeing anyone do it - but for a 50-minute tour, we saw a lot of magic. The museum is also very intestesting. The receptionist who greeted us was friendly and welcoming, and there are several guitars available to play.

The museum and factory free are FREE! Check in with the receptionist and look around, strum a tune or check out some literature. When the tour starts they review the audio device used for narration throughout the tour. Mike was our tour guide, who was very knowledgeable and funny. Many photo opportunities throughout your entire experience. Not just for guitar players/musicians but fans of all walks of interests from building and design, etc. I have been there twice now because they have special exhibits; example Jimmy Buffett's Escape to Margaritaville.

I am not a bug guitar fan but Hubby is and he has wanted to visit here for a long time. From the welcome from the receptionist to the knowledge of the tour guide and the friendliness of everyone this was a great visit. After our tour we went out for lunch then returned to visit the excellent museum. What a great day, thanks to Martin Guitars for allowing us to visit.

You don’t need to play guitar to be impressed by everything at Martin Guitars. The tour is outstanding and you see every single step taken in the process of making an average of 200 guitars per day with 98% being handmade by the nearly 500 employees. The craftsmanship and attention to detail is both impressive and mind-boggling with the end result of some of the most beautiful guitars you could ever imagine. The tour is about 70-90 minutes and you’ll want to spend another hour in the terrific free museum that is detailed and well setup. Be sure to check out the gift shop too.

Whether you play guitar or not, a visit to Martin Guitars is a fabulous experience for many reasons. First, Martin offers a FREE guided tour of its guitar making factory. The tour lasts about an hour and takes you right into the assembly areas of the shop. You are also allowed to take non-flash photos of the factory. Second, you can also visit the Martin guitar museum which boasts several fantastic exhibits tracing Martin’s history since 1833 and highlighting many famous musical artists. Third, if you play guitar, you are free to try several Martin models to your hearts content. Honestly, I enjoyed my visit so much that I am already planning to go back soon with friends and I do not even own a Martin guitar (yet).

Are children allowed on the tour? I have a 3 year old who loves "playing" her ukulele and my guitar.

Yes, kids are allowed! We took our 6 yr old daughter, 4 yr old son and, 10 month old son and everyone did good- our daughter was alittle tired of walking at the end so you might want to bring a stroller(which will fit through-we had a graco single and had lots of room through the tour).

Is the factory tour accessible for wheelchairs?

The Martin Guitar Tour section of the Visit PA website states that the facility is ADA Compliant. As I recall, most of the aisles would accommodate wheelchairs. It was evident that a lot of planning went into this beautiful facility. The gift shop may require some maneuvering if it is crowded.

Can I buy a guitar directly from the factory?

Well i finally made a trip to the factory today. Jan 30, 2017 I was great to see the manufacturing of such beautiful instruments being hand made. I can say they now to answer my question Martin does have a program now where you can buy a guitar from the factory.directly. Great, except you have to pay full retail. Back to the dealer.
