This place was closed 2 years ago ! Shame they have not removed their website and listing on various tourism websites,
My husband drive 2 hours only to find it had closed down years ago after a tragic accident. Might want to update this info or simply delete your website !

From the start of our walk we were in awe of the beautiful forests at Cape Tribulation.
Hannah our guide was extremely passionate about the environment and spent considerable time explaining the detail of the trees, the wonderful animals and creatures that inhabit these forests. The bonus and highlight of the day was coming across the Cassawarie with its 4 chicks.
That was awesome.
Thank you Hannah and the good people behind the Jungle Walks at Cape Tribulation for an experience of a lifetime.

We had a lovely time here on a little family jaunt. My 15 year old daughter loved the experience. I loved learning about the local native Rainforest. It wasn't even scary. A must do if you can afford it.

The staff were very friendly an engaging and very security conscious. Harnesses and connections were checked at every platform - arriving and leaving, and we were always secured to either the platforms or the zipline. The actual ziplining was great fun and it was a struggle to remember to enjoy the great views.

My family of 5 did this tour 2 years ago and we had an awesome experience. The crew were very upbeat, positive and safety focused. They would not make you do anything you didn't want to attempt and were very patient with kids and elderly customers alike. The tragic accident that happened yesterday will shake these dedicated crews to their cores and affect the small community at Cape Trib. Our thoughts are with the families of the people lost and injured, and with the crews at Jungle Surfing Canopy Tours. We are sorry for your loss and suffering.

This review is being written a day after the shocking and tragic news of a death here (Tuesday 22/10/2019) and barely a week after my own experience (Wednesday 16/10/2019)
Starting from the collection point at sea-level in Cape Tribulation, we were given head scarfs which you wear as an extra layer between your hair & helmet.
Safety is in-built into the ride, with the 3 staff conscientiously ensuring each of us - a group of 9 ranging from children to retirees - were secure the whole time.
A short 5-min bus ride to the staging area saw us fitted in with harnesses and helmets. Each helmet name gives us a persona for the ride - I was The Hulk!
The first journey is a steep step climb up the mountain. This is a good test for fitness; if you cannot do the climb, an alternative route is available for the elderly...
The second journey involves the human hamster wheel, where we work in typically pairs or 3s to walk on the wheel, which powers the first rope segment where we power the climb of whoever is going up first.
Once you are up in the trees, you have small platforms for resting & waiting in between the rope courses. 5 tree platforms with the final segment / zipline being a nice flying fox style race to the ground.
A small bag is provided for phone/cameras and some crazy riders do actually use their phones whilst surfing across. The staff will take official photos for you using their GoPro - individually and as a pair so you can choose to purchase a hard copy/digital print back at the pick-up cafe point.
The views are amazing. Personally when I was a child I had a slight fear of heights but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I should also end by pointing out that in the news reports of this tragic death there is phrasing that the couple were “sharing a harness” which doesn’t sound like correct procedure... it may have been a factor leading to the tragedy... I personally felt safe and I could tell all staff took their work seriously to ensure everyone felt safe and were securely attached to their harness and the rope system.
TIP: Wear a top that covers your shoulders since the harness straps will sit more comfortably. Closed shoes are best.

I had an awesome time jungle surfing, a must do for the area, just make sure you book in advance to avoid disappointment, especially during school holidays.
The crew are great, funny and knowledgeable and fill you with fun facts about the area as you take in the views.
A lot of fun for all ages. the last two zips were my favourite for being the fastest (and also one was upside down)

For anyone who has bought tickets for a tour this July, will they get their ticket money refunded? We have paid $416 for a family ticket but as this company has closed the business we obviously can no longer visit. No one responds to emails or messages. Very disappointing when we are all doing it tough in these times.

Hi. We are doing this early August.
Will we get bitten by insects whilst between trees? What clothes would be appropriate to wear for this activity for this time of year? We are from the UK.

We brought bug spray but didn't need it. No problem with insects!

You can only get there by crossing the Daintree River - by vehicle ferry

Do you have parking at your facilities? Also how long is the drive from Port Douglas?
JungleSurfer
Cape Tribulation, Avustralya3 katkı
Hi, we do have free parking available at our central meeting point the Jungle Adventure Centre. We would suggest allowing 2 hours from Port Douglas but if you're travelling in the school holidays i would suggest allowing 3 hours just incase you have to wait at the ferry. Hopefully see you soon. Thanks

Are you ziplining from platform to platform or is there climbing and/or obstacle course work involved? I am hoping it is the former.
I just did the latter at Go Ape in South Carolina/USA and while I loved the ziplining part, the multiple rope latter climbs and sometimes heartstopping "crossings" between platforms (yes, there were 40 of them!) just about did me in. I have more than a touch of vertigo for such feats. They have videos of Go Ape for North Myrtle Beach South Carolina on you tube if you want to better see what I am talking about - best one is 4:08 long and was posted on 8/8/15. We are already booked with you for early June - but just checking so I know what to prepare for - if it is just zippling between platforms i will be fine!

Hello from the jungle!
You'll be pleased to hear that our experience is a guided tour of the rainforest canopy by zipline and tree platform, and absolutely NOT a high ropes course.
So that means there are no obstacles or climbs and the whole tour is designed so our guides do the hard work while you enjoy the spectacular views from each platform and learn a bit about each level of the rainforest canopy. Our guides actually control your flight between platforms so you don't need to use any kind of braking device.
So it's fairly gentle, although there are a couple of faster spans which are heaps of fun, and the final span consists of side-by-side ziplines so can (kind of) race each other to the final platform with an automated stopping device for safety.
Do check out the video on our website for more insight, but I hope that answers your question.
We look forward to seeing you in June :)
Cheers, Sheena

Where is the pickup location in Cairns for the full day tour? I saw it said Cairns Northern Beaches, but where is the specific spot?
JungleSurfer
Cape Tribulation, Avustralya3 katkı
Hi Hayley, the tour picks up from any hotel in Cairns or the Northern Beaches area (Palm Cove etc), or Port Douglas. So there isn't one specific location. If you're not staying at a hotel or resort (eg staying with friends) just pick a hotel close to you.

would it be ok for a 5 yr old??
We are staying at the Novotel Oasis in lake st, how long will it take us to get there and can we be collected and dropped off from the hotel??
how much does that add to the cost?

Yes, Jungle Surfing's suitable for kids aged 3 upwards, although it does obviously depend on the child and how adventurous they are.
We suggest that you allow 3 hours to drive from Cairns to Cape Tribulation, and with the 2 hour Jungle Surfing tour ($90) we only include picks up around Cape Tribulation itself.
However, there is another option if you'd like transfers from Cairns, and that's the Go Jungle Surfing full day tour operated by Jungle Tours/Tropic Wings. It's a full 11-12 hour day and also includes a visit to Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas, a cruise on the Daintree River, lunch, morning tea and scenic transfers. The cost of the full day tour is $230 per adult/$200 per child 4-14. Your hotel can book it for you or you can book either on our web site or by phone.
Hope that helps :)

Sorry we've only just seen this question. I think you must have the wrong company as we don't have any accommodation at all. we just run a zipline tour through the rainforest canopy.
Hope you found who you were looking for.
