Fantastic white water ride enjoyed by a family ranging from 11 - 77 years! Made even more fun by Paul who was calm, clear and completely dedicated to ensuring everyone had a great time. Thoroughly recommend and we can’t wait to visit again.

Free to enter with Paid car parking.
Found loverly picnic place, under trees in park with scultures, then walked over river to bird hide.
Great place to relax.

I recommend this ..Introduction to White Water course. And we had Immy as instructor although no doubt each instructor and bank side safety is super. Immy really was fab!
And believe me safety is super. I was in safe hands and eyesight at all times. Thank you Safety team 👏
Immy was our instructor; she was a super instructor on our 4 week course, observant to us as individuals, great verbal and practical demonstrations, consistent feedback repeated & as requested; incredibly friendly & calm and a very good instructor & coach. Immt quickly got to know us as we did her. This made for a great development .. over 4 weeks with our confidence & Competence. Along with understanding the flow of the water,
turbulence, how to position and edge your kayak, posture, power transfer feel & connectivity. Relevant paddle strokes were taught.
I could go on..
I recommend this course to any aspiring white water kayak or hesitant white water kayaker..beyond the tuition the centre is incredibly easy to access. Pkg is free if on a course - enter your reg at reception. Lockers are free and staff will have no problem guiding how to use them, no charge or padlock needed. I had my own kit but wetsuits, booties, cags, pdfs, skull thermal, helmet , biat & paddle are all provided within cost ..& right by the waters edge.
A lovely centre, a fabulous progressive course and personal investment & achievement
...many thanks to Immy our excellent coach 😊
Thanks so must, Jacqui x

I got scammed by the new parking rules there. I'm sure that the parking information board said that you pay (via the app) on your way out, which I duly did only to receive a penalty notice the following week.
If anyone goes there could you please post a picture of the parking information board as I would like proof for when I query the penalty notice?
If you do go, please make sure you pay when you arrive for the time you need.

Thank you for your review. Sorry to hear you had this experience with the parking system. We’ve recently changed the system to a pay on exit process to avoid issues with visitors over staying their time. To ensure you pay for the right amount for your stay, please make a note of the time you enter and exit the car park to you pay for the right amount of time. Once you’re about to leave, use the clock on the machine or app to enter the right amount of hours for your stay. The time the clock shows is irrelevant as long as you’ve paid for the right amount of hours. You have until midnight of the day of your visit to pay the right amount of parking. We’re working with ParkingEye to improve the process and have linked to paybyphone and good2go on our website to help customers with the process. If you would like us to look into you PCN, please email our team on carparkingpermits@leevalleypark.org.uk. We apologise again for this experience and we hope this doesn’t deter you for visiting the park again.

It is nice to have an area like this just around the corner from you, where you can go for a walk and enjoy the fresh air. There are plenty of different trails and wide open spaces, you can even walk along the canal path and see the barges.
The area is very clean and well kept, there is a cafe between Edmonton and Tottenham Hale if you want to stop for a break. Plenty of people go to walk their dogs there. It is a good place to get away from city life.
I only have one negative observation, people come here to enjoy the peace and quiet, but there were people cycling around with music on extremely loud, spoiling it for others.

Went for a walk with the kids and mother who holds a disabled badge and Lee valley parking rights and still ended up with a £100 fine even upon appeal with evidence it was deemed insufficient evidence, needless to say that a place my family and myself enjoy very much we won’t be going back, feel totally ripped off and gutted as it’s a lovely area. Seems I am not alone and it feels like a con, I am fine with helping the rangers but I disagree with the process they have in place. Be warned they don’t cover the parking so can’t confirm if u have a disabled badge on display and there machines are not reliable.

Parking eye rip off !!!
Met a friend, stayed for basically 6 hours .
He paid with a cafe voucher given and the reminder was £3 . I paid after and it was £5 .
A week later he got a pcn. He appealed showing his receipt of payments . It was refused
Took it to Popla to appeal
Explaining how I paid £5 too and was actually there longer by 5 mins.
It’s been refused
The maximum to pay was £5 anyway … they are claiming it is now £6
Totally disgusting when the machine takes your money and then you are fined

Looks like I have joined the ever popular 100 pound fixed penalty club. Seems to be growing in numbers by the day! Parked at Fishers Green. I do believe pay machine was broken on the day.
Paid by phone following each prompt carefully. Car registration needed adding using the alphanumeric keypad (like old style texting - where to get the letter L for example you have to press the number 3 times) as the webpage didn’t have a normal keyboard just the number/letter combo. That was quite an ordeal.
Thought nothing of it. The only curious thing was that I got no email or confirmation text message to say registration was successful.
Your system clearly needs looking at if everyone is getting stung by it. 2 days later, fixed penalty notice letter, 100 pounds or 60 if you settle straight away. I appealed no less than twice. But once you lodge the second appeal, you are no longer entitled to the reduced rate.
I lost the appeal. No mention was made of the fact that i described in great detail how I tried to register the car and card with the keypad. I did so, in order for them to see that I had in fact not evaded paying. They got me on a technicality though, that I should have paid “upon exit” as the sign clearly states this. That makes no sense. One doesn’t normally go and pay and display at the end of the stay… so why would one register the stay at the end!
Shame! The walk around the park was nice enough. But doubtful if I would go back. Unless they could reassure me that the system had been fixed or removed!

We have an enormous, lovely park here. I have always felt safe.
The Ranger replies to my emails rapidly and with helpful info about. for example, when the orchids at Bowers Water bloom (usually April, but flowers don't keep an exact timetable).
I arrive by train from Tottenham Hale and parking fines don't bother me.
There are idyllic meadows with willow trees, yellow water lilies and colourful flying insects, between Broxbourne and Cheshunt .
There's a sculpture trail worth seeing. On a super-hot day it's cool under the trees by the river Lee/Lea.
At Cheshunt you can hire boats (£££), but they are largish boats that 6 people can fir into.
Here's why I didn't give it 5*.
* The maps the parks provide are not very useful. Tip: you can see maps on the OS website.
* We are not to swim in the lakes, because they used to be gravel pits and they may be very deep, so the water may be mortally cold, and also they may contain rusty machinery. I would like to see at least one of the lakes cleaned of rusty machinery and filled in until sufficiently shallow, then we could swim.

Can someone suggest which part of the country park to go to / which car park to use, for a meet up with family for a picnic? Just need open space to sit down for picnic and for kids to run around. We're coming from West London and our other family are coming from Southend so looking for a good place to meet half way ish between us. Thanks
Hi Becky, There's lots of places that are perfect for picnics! We would suggest River Lee Country Park which has many open spaces with car parks for you explore. Kind wishes, Holly

Question - What Club do you belong to and what key did you use to access the Fishery as the rest of us use the combination lock. Why did you wait in the Pay Car Park when you could have met him over the Relief Channel before the Combination Gate. Is your friend a member also. I am no friend of the Parks and their Parking Cronies, Indeed have spoken vehemently against it from its inception and will continue to do so as since starting Parking Charges they are losing money by non-attendance, fees to Parking Eye and compensation also to Parking Eye for damaged Machines at £4000 per machine. A right mess and however thought it up should be sacked.

Hi Doug, thank you for posting your question. We see that this is aimed at a review from Graham with the username GRAH100. To contact him directly, please use the direct messaging service through TripAdvisor. In regards to the introduction of the parking changes, these where introduced to reduce our reliance on the tax payer and maintain our amazing open spaces and habitats in the park. Kind wishes, Holly

Hi
Do you know how far the sculpture trail is as we have a couple of children and would like to know if we need to take buggies if it is too far for them to walk.
Many thanks

Hi Lynn
There are a couple of routes that you can do on our sculpture trail ranging from 2.5 miles up to 6 miles long. All the pathways are surfaced so if you need to take a buggy it won't be too heavy going. If you go to walks and nature trails section of our Visit Lee Valley website under the Nature, Parks & Gardens tab you'll find route narratives for the Artworks routes.
Many thanks

Where is a good dog friendly walk in the Lee Valley Park south of cheshunt? We tried to go on a walk here the other day near the Nature Reserve but it was no dogs allowed.

There are no specific dog walking areas, they just insist that dogs are kept on their leads at all times and are not allowed in the built facilities or the children's play areas. Or have some fun with your four legged friend and try out the 500m dog agility course of jumps, hoops, high walks and an A-frame near Pindar car park. Their site says that they welcome well behaved dogs , but they must be kept on leads at all times.

We went by train to Cheshunt. The Cheshunt entrance has a car park. We did a complete circular route from the Cheshunt entrance && return, which gives the best of all worlds scenically, and, if you have time for birding, access to several hides.

Hi, thank you for your question. Lee Valley Regional Park is stretched across 10,000 acres with a range of nature reserves and open spaces to explore. Please visit our website and select which part of the park you’d like to visit under the ‘Nature, parks & gardens’ tab. Directions will vary depending on what part of the park you choose to visit. Hope this helps with your query.

Hi, I would like to ask anyone out there where there are any accessible discovery routes for an ambulance disabled wheelchair person and carer. We have done the canal paths and find that it gets a little difficult avoiding cyclists all the time. We are interested in wildlife, (hides etc) and art sculptures, circular routes etc.

Hi, thank you for your question. We would suggest using the Fishers Green car park and crossing the river to the path around 70 Acres lake. The whole loop is accessible and there are three sculptures along the route as well as the Bittern Information Point hide which is also accessible. Much of the rest of River Lee Country Park can be explored from this route without using the tow path, although there are some inclines involved using the bridges across the canal. The sculptures will also very shortly have signage identifying the route to find all 10 sculptures within the park. Plus, Fishers Green has accessible toilets. Hope this helps with your query.
